So I just got back from my one year wedding anniversary trip and I had an overweight bag and said not to worry about it I'll get reimbursed the $75 fee from my Ritz Carlton card when the charge posts to my account. Well all my eligible charges posted to my account so I called them up this morning to request reimbursement and went over the charges on the account and she said the $75 baggage fee wasn't an eligible charge. I was like that the fee for an overweight bag from Southwest, she explained to me that the charge didn't come from Southwest, so they can't reimburse the charge since it wasn't eligible. I was staying at the Grand Floridian Resort in Walt Disney World, and gave them my bags and got a receipt that says Airportbags.com for Southwest Airlines. So just a word or warning to anyone trying to claim baggage fees for a trip that's not charged by the airline will not be reimbursed. If I had known this I would have brought my bags to the airport and paid the fee there, or took out the stuff causing the bag to be slightly overweight.

I would have taken the stuff on the plane if I knew I would have been hassled for a reimbursement.

Do you think at the time that I was paying the baggage fee that I was going to be hassled about being reimbursed, and that at 5am in the morning I should have bought a Disney Duffle Bag?

5am or 5pm..,I'm always aware. So you could have saved yourself the waste of time to call the Ritz card to get reimbursed by simply using the additional bag you had. Southwest has a generous baggage policy. Also no hotel that checks bags in at their property is actually the direct airline ! It's a service provided by a company !

This is why i now only fly business class, free baggage.
If i was you id take the receipt to your local chase branch and show them. They inturn can call Ritz on your behalf. I did this when Marriott double charged me due to a computer error. They said 3 times that they couldnt reverse the charges. So i went to my local banker and in less than 30 minutes they had everything back to normal.
Yes it was a pain but i understand they dont want to comp fraudulent claims.

J.P. Morgan IMO is a PITA when it comes to the Ritz-Carlton's fee reimbursement. I remember requesting reimbursement for a day pass at an Admiral's lounge and they required a copy of the receipt which I had promptly thrown out.

I kept all my receipts from the trip for a reason and had even requested additional copies just in case. I think they should just start using the same system that the CSR is using and just make any travel be reimbursed.
