Unsure of AA points but flights are cheap to Ireland. If you go stay at "Powerscourt Autograph Marriott" in Wicklow mountains (formarly an RC). It IS a Fabulous Vacation. You can train into Dublin or drive anywhere. Sail/Rail to London or Paris for a day or two.

Probably a Europe Business SAAver award. Problem is AA likes to route you through LHR on British Airways which has a better seat and service (IMO) but comes with a hefty surcharge. I found some availability to Barcelona in October for 57.5k each way from LA.

It would have been same amount of miles on JAL. They increased the amount of points required for that now.

Have you looked at South America at all? AA usually has tons of award availability, great partner airlines and no nasty fuel surcharges. Recently flew to Brazil in May for 50K per person round trip.

Not much of one for business awards for the prices they ask. I know the CPM is better but it's a tough sell for me to spend nearly twice as many miles on the same flight. I'd rather fly coach and travel twice as often :-)

It's very rare for me to even consider economy tickets. There's tons and tons of flight deals internationally for 400 to 700... At those prices, your airline miles are a terrible 1 cent per mile, especially since you can credit those miles to partners that aren't revenue based
