New Amex SPG Offer?

I think it's a changed offer because of the merger. Maybe they don't want someone getting the 25k points and then transferring to Marriott at x3 rate?

SPG not prg. I made a post about this at launch. You can still get 25k point version by finding a referral. I'd wait until october 5th when the new rumored amex card is going to launch. Assuming its a charge card, pair it with SPG.

What is the rumored new card and where did you hear about the October 5 date? CSR is just killing AMEX right now. Platinum in need of a major overhaul to even be competitive. Love the gold Hilton and SPG status and Delta lounge access. AMEX "Premier Rewards Platinum" would seem to be a logical name.

As a CC enthusiast I'd love to hear what you can tell us is going on in the back end at Amex. Are the higher ups aware of what public perception is currently after the launch of the C$R!

+1. Points can be transferred to airline partners, sometimes with sweet bonuses. E.g., transferring 20k points to Delta nets you a 5k point bonus. Better value and better flexibility with the points.

Please don't try to put Pooka89 in a difficult position by asking him/her to divulge private information. They are kind enough to be on this forum and answer questions when they arise but there is an obvious limit to what they can say on a public forum. Let's appreciate what he/she can do for us and leave it at that.

Relax. No one is asking her to do anything that would hurt her. But in 2016, being transparent with your consumers is very beneficial. Times have changed and many companies are acknowledging that by releasing alot of information via social media and other means. If Pooka can make us excited about Amex, that's great! If not, it's OK too! We'll just continue to be excited about other competing products. Simple as that.
