CAP 1 Recon after EX reports me as minor.

Questions

1) Should I call for recon and does anybody have a good "backdoor number" ?

2) Suggestions on card selection looking for BT , Low rate,

Background:

12/22/2008 appd for cap 1 platium card from prequal site.

Denial Letter states "Based on the credit report from Experian for "Firstname Lastname" applicant does not meet minimum age requirement.

Cap 1 pulled EQ TU. EX probably could not be pulled due to reported age.

Sent supporting documentation to EX (DL, UTIL bill etc. received by EX per tracking number)

Decided to retry access online fom creditchecktotal.com . viola access after 8 months of no access to experian report.

Birth Year given as 1991 so if date is jan 1 I am now 18 yrs old

Used online dispute for date. (hard copy documentation already received.*)

ROI DELETED.. They may not have processed hard copy docs yet.

4 baddies 2- CA 1- 30(2006) 1- 90(2004)

At Least EX is best myFICO score

called following backdoor number (thanks slyviatob)

Cap1: 800-548-4593 (application department; status)

System took recon will reply in 15 business days.

will update then...............

Final outcome Approved $5K.

Should/Can I dispute additional inqs?

How it went down:

2/7/09

OK 15 days passed and no response called backdoor number again and the acct specialist said the notes did not seem clear. She updated/clarified notes and and would request recon again.

Called 02/22 spoke with acct specialist recon in limbo, also asked about possible new inq (60 days from denial) and requested to be contacted if they were necessary. I was told all three are automatic.

2/24 called again, acct specialist told me recon completed that day, just awaiting acct number. Did not spk about inqs (did not want to tempt fate)

2/25 called regular acct number using ssn to verify acct existence. rep told me cl 5k

2/27 Pmt received by other card for BT
