Are you now allowed to PC Amex BCE to ED? and Vice versa

Does anyone know if you are allowed to product change Amex BCE/BCP to a ED/EDP and vice versa now? I think I read somewhere recently that someone successfully PC between those two type of cards. I know from research its been said it cannot be done, but has this changed? Has anyone done it yet?

As far as I know you can't unless they recently changed their policy. I tried in June but had to reapply for a BCE. I combined my limits from my Everyday Card and canceled the older card.

Yes.... credit to credit / charge to charge but, if you're thinking co-branded llke SPG / Delta / etc. then it's only up or down like delta to delta gold or delta platinum.

Hmm.... they must have changed their rules! It was always my assumption that you could not convert from points to cash. And the opposite, I have seen reports of folks downgrading say a Delta Gold with an annual fee to a no annual fee hilton card. I am tired so who knows.

As someone said, Hilton to Hilton. Gold to platinum. Never allowed delta to Hilton as far as I know. Different contracts for different companies so not allowed or possible.

This was my struggle a few days ago. I applied for BCE but wanted to PC to EDP. Tried everything from multiple recon to getting bounced around different divisions and different people telling me different things. I really wanted the EDP to be my one-two punch go to cards along with my Chase Sapphire. Ultimately ended up just applying for the EDP separately. So I'm just going to build on my EDP and hopefully 3x in 61 days.

So in short to answer your question - I had no luck and I was pretty persistent.

So it looks like the original position hasn't changed, can't go from cashback to points or vice versa. Other issuers don't seem nearly as strict

No, this isn't how it works. You can not change from a cash back card to a MR points earning card and vice versa. The Amex rep that posts here, Pooka89, has confirmed this. We need to be careful what we tell other posters.

I know it's not the same card but I called trying to change my blue sky to everyday. The rep wouldn't say I couldn't do it, just that there was no offer aND to check back in 2 billing cycles. I'm inpatient got approved for the everyday anyway.

i pray you got at least a 25/30k bonus on the EDP.
