Wells Fargo CLI upon activation?

Anyone know if they will allow for an increase once you receive your new card or do you have to wait 6-12 months?

Is it a soft or hard pull?

Anyone know the specific questions asked when you call in to request a CLI?

I'm not sure of the specifics with Wells... hopefully some folks with WF experience will be able to chime in shortly.

I waited one year before I asked for my first increase. After that I waited every 4 to 6 months before asking for another increase. I got five or six SP increases.

Card is now at $25K. Took two HP CLIs to get it there.

Twice I got a HP after being told specifically it would be a SP. Had to call back to get one HP removed (after they listened to the recorded conversation). Left the second HP because it got me to $25K.

Male sure you have them confirm that it will be SP.

So it seems WF does not recon starting limits?

What were the specific questions asked by the reps when initiating the credit limit increase?

I didn't even wait until activation. When I called to check the status, they told me the limit was $3500, which I wasn't interested in. I asked for $15000 when I called the credit analyst #, and she approved the new CLI.

The only thing that she didn't tell me was that instead of using the EX report they'd already pulled, she pulled TU also :\ In the end, I didn't mind eating another INQ for the outcome.

You bet you can call and recon! You just need to find someone willing to help you. I will also make mention for anyone that has a current WF card, now on online banking you can request a CLI under the account services tab.

They will use the FICO score they give for free that updates "monthly" first if they can't use that information then it will be a hard pull. I did this a couple weeks ago and got another $1600 increase

I don't have this option, currently. I'll monitor my account to see if it pops up over time.

UPDATE: I asked for an increase after activating my card and got the FULL amount that I asked for. It showed up a couple hours later online. Yessssssss!

I had to dig a bit to find it:

Account Services tab> Under Account services (far right column) look for Manage Personal Credit Card Line > I then had options for Credit Line Increase and Credit Line Reallocation (even though I only have one card, it was there).

I'm going to wait a couple months til I give it a try!

I was told they'd use the same report. I honestly wouldn't be mad if there was another. I got exactly what I wanted.

That worked! Now I see both the CLI and reallocation.
