I agree with trying every 6 months. But if you do chat and they deny the reduction, ask when you can try again.

I was able to lower BofA and Discover. Not Chase. Good luck.

APR Reduction

So I have finally been able to get the cards I really need however I am blown away at how high all of my APR's are...nearly the max on everything. While it doesn't bother me that much as everything is PIF on or before statement cut (letting just one report with ~5% util) is there anything I can do to get them reduced? My scores weren't great when I got my last two cards and it would seem this hurt the APR's I was offered. Has anyone had any luck getting them reduced? Any reccomendations on attempting to get them lowered?

Thanks!

-Sin

Plenty of discussions on this around here for sure! I would say most companies will entertain a reduction every 6 months with a SM or call or chat to see if there's an "offer available" on your account to do so.

I have read a few of them. Tried to Citi DC a while ago and got denied sadly. Guess my scores aren't cut out for a reduction D:

Meh, I think it's more of the time spent with the lender moreso than scores. Showing some history of good use / payments sways them more than a high score. Just put them on the calendar and keep trying every 6 months.

Some lenders are more flexible than others. Don't even bother asking Chase, whereas Discover is more amenable to it, for example.
