I would like to start improving my credit score using credit cards. I have a SimplyBe card, Fingerhut (rarely used), and I was just approved for Credit One Bank with a $300 limit. Does anyone know any cards that will help?

TU: 568 Equifax: 561 Experian: Unsure FICO: 515

Be careful on adquiring too many sct cards as Comenity can close one down for too many in short period of time. Spend some time in the rebuild forum and you will find excellent tips on rebuilding Getting a secured bank card or two may be your best shot. Perhaps try Capitol One who are great for rebuilders and maybe Discover. Navy Fed credit Union also seems to help out rebuilders.

Slow and steady wins the race! Only apply for credit cards you will use, especially store cards. if you don't regularly shop there, don't waste you time. What else is on your report that is keeping your score low.

I began with 1 secured card with capital one, Over the course of a year and a half I have worked my scores up to where they are in my signature and now my available credit is $23,600 and its all unsecured. My advice is to work on all the negative stuff on your report and build with a good secured card until an opportunity arises for something like a Cap One Platinum or QS1

In time you will prove to potential lenders/creditors that you are a good business risk. Make sure you pay everything on time, more than minimum and if possible in full except for a few dollars.
