Question about using PenFed card at Costco

Silly question here. I got the email from Penfed that said we can now use Penfed Visa at Costco. My question is, do we still need to be a member in order to shop at Costco?

IF you have a Costco Gift Card, that will get you entry, and you can use that to pay EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT A MEMBER.

There is nothing special about the Penfed Visa related to Costco, I think it was just a "reminder" that Costco now accepts Visa rather than Amex. I wonder if Penfed Amex card holders got an email reminding them that they now cannot use it there! (OK, I don't wonder at all)

Correct. My (soon-to-be) former CU also had a splash notice on login, saying that we could use our cards at Costco. Membership is still needed, with some exceptions like using Costco GCs (Also in CA, we can buy prescriptions and alcohol without membership).
