Sorry. I never knew it could be denied. I increased mine when I had it many times. Started at $200 went to $500 then $800 then $1000 then $2000. Never an issue. Wait for he letter and please report back. Wondering what it says and if it is worth calling back and asking for recon. It's a secured card!!!! No risk to them. Can I ask what your income is and what your initial CL is? Also are you sure they knew you wanted to increase the secured card and you weren't trying to have it unsecured and increased?

Called in after my 3rd statement and requested a CLI. I want to give them my $500 to increase the limit on my card. After answering all the employment, asset, bank account info I was declined. No changes in score, no lates etc since card opening.

I was unaware that you could increase your limit after your initial deposit, which is good to know since I just got a secured Discover IT as well. Did they give any particular reason for the CLI denial?

Hmm my process was really easy I have the Discover Secured too and they "approved" me for an increase of up to $2,500 from my initial $400 SL. I only have them another $300 so my limit is now $700 but could've gone to $2,500 apparently.

When doing this you should include your income as well as anyone else's income you would have access too if you needed to pay a bill such as a girlfriend, fiancée, spouse (parent/grandparent/relative you live with and have access to their income to pay a bill if need be) and use any scholarships or grants as income as well per the CARD Act this is perfectly acceptable.

So my income for them shows mine and my fiancées income which makes it 54k as opposed to if it were just mine at 29k. Hope that helps!

If it doesn't say household, you cannot use your parents/fiance/etc...
