Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum and have a question about the right credit mix. I have two orchard bank cards, one master and the other visa, a capital one card, and a car loan. Is this a good mix or should I add some other type of card?

You need a store card, something without a visa/mastercard logo on it.

The best store card to have is one in which you will use it. Nothing is worst than to have a card that you rarely use because you do not shop there. You will need to purchase something at least every 3-6 months to keep the card active and to force yourself to buy somethig that you would normally not buy because you do not shop there is a huge headache.

What stores do you shop at?

LOL!!!

You might also consider a store card that is likely to remain a store card. That's one thing that's nice about Macy's -- it actually reports as two TLs if you get upgraded to the Visa.

Hey guys, thanks for your help! I called the Macy's back door number and they reactivated a card I had from 8 years ago, and gave me an cl of $800 instead of the $100 I had back then. I talked to two people though and neither one of them could tell me if it was a soft or hard inq. Anyway I have the mix I want, and I am done apping for a while.
