AMEX 3X?

I've read that you can request 3 times your limit after 60 days. Could someone be kind enough to tell me how to go about this? I do not remember the specific date I got approved but I can always request it 60 days after my first swipe. Initial limit was 19,500. I would like to take this to 45,000 if possible without them requesting any information like taxes and all that good stuff

You can try for it but anything above 20k i beleive you will need to send in income verification, if you are ok with that then go for it.

Forgot to add its a sp cli whenever you do it. as far as how to do it . its under account services if i recall correctly

The option is under account services > credit managment.

When requesting your limit you just put in the number you'd like.

I don't think it was quite 60days when I requested mine. I actually didn't go for the 3x. They started me off with 10,000 and I just asked to be increased to 15.

You'll most likely be asked for documents if you're asking for 45,000. You can always go lower though

I went ahead and requested 38,000... got the "7 days" letter message. I also got an email with a phone number to call to speak to customer service rep. I had to call too when i applied for this card

Usually a 7 day means you missed the date by a couple of days or since you had to call when you applied you have a fraud alert or something on your files. Give them a shout and see what's up.

The request was denied. I still have 12 more days before I can make the rest. Now I know what to do when the time comes. Thanks guys

Set your calendar and then set it again for 6 months from then and repeat every 6 months So, your 61 days is the day after XMAS!!!! Late presents can be good. $38K will probably prompt you for a 4506 due to the age of your account. There's an artifical limit of $34.5K on new accounts before they ask even though this is debated by some. The old days it used to be 25K though. Though if you were to gain more time with AMEX there's a few people going beyond 50K w/o a 4506. The 4506 isn't that bad though and once you submit it online it's typically back and approved within 3 days.

I am like Donald Trump, I don't share my taxes with anyone. I'll settle for 34.5k for now. Hopefully that goes through without any requests for taxes

Just thought I'd update y'all. Tried the increase this morning. I asked for $34,500 and was countered with $29,100. I accepted it, Not like I was going to turn down anything anyways. I will hit this up again in 61 days until this card is level with my discover! The plan is to trim down my cards to 5 with an average $40k on each one.

Just a heads up that now that you have been successful in a user initiated CLI from Amex, you will have to wait 180 days (not 61) for another user initiated CLI attempt.

So you didn't have to wait 90 days from your initial denial huh? Gives me a lil hope. I got denied a day after Christmas (only 38 days in). Kind of got greedy. Day 61 is 19 January for me. Hopefully I'll have the same success as you. At any rate, congratulations on your CLI!

NIM - 29.100 is a good jump and a counter is always better than a denial. I'm not sure why they didn't go for the whole 34.5K though unless there's some spending or income they're concerned about.

s1nful - yes, try again once you hit 61 days and you won't have to wait 90 days since it's just a calander issue at this point because you pulled the trigger a bit early.

They're kind of quirky when it comes to timelines.

If you request before you're eligible it doesn't reset the timer for 90 days just wait until the original 61/181 date from the last request.

Obviously nothing is guaranteed when it comes to a CLI or an approval but, there's a bit of a science to it all around here from trial and error e.g. 34.5K req from NIM with a counter to 29.1K. Some are instant approvals and others require additional time or documentation. Some can go up to 50K w/o a 4506 and others get a 4506 request at 5K. There's a lot of fatcors that come into play with AMEX in general when playing the game.
