At one time a PC from one co-brand card to another co-brand card was possible with Amex... it was actually common for people to PC their Delta Gold to a Hilton to get out of the AF, yet still keep the account open.

Unfortunately it is no longer possible. Now you can only PC within the same 'family' of cards, i.e. Delta Gold to Delta Platinum, BCE to BCP, Green to PRG, etc.

Pooka89 spelled it out in this thread shortly after the change went into effect: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Any-success-in-PCing-an-AmEx-SPG-to-another-AmEx-card/m-p/4553885#M1315181

(If I recall correctly, it was never possible to change from a co-brand to a "proprietary" card in any case, i.e. change from Hilton to ED.)

Just FYI on cards with no annual fee, we will usually (not always, but no way to verify if) close an account after six consecutive months of zero activity. We usually recommend put so sort of quarterly or bi-annual charge on it and just set up autopay so you don't have to worry about it. Hope this helps.

It does not sound good. I was looking at the AmEx Everyday. Only for AmEx offers etc. But Chase has its own shopping programs too. I just got 3% more with J Crew order. Plus the base 1.5% and 1.5x CSR, it is a good reward.

May wait to get a Plat....
