Barclays CLD-jealous little bank

I have been waiting for my day-2 Barclays cards I have , one was a US airways turned AA Aviator and another a rewards MC over 3 years old. I finally PIF both cards and over the past year paid off my student loans (48k ) and decreased my CC debt by 10k. Great year! Low and behold I log into my account today and see that Barklay's has CLD why US airways card from 8000 to 4000. They are getting a call tomorrow to close both my cards.Chase loves me anyways, and I just got approved for a Citi diamond card last night.

Barclays is trash. This CLD mess is really painting a clear picture. Congrats on the Citi approval.

I bet the Barclays Arena in New York will change it's sponsorship soon. They want to control you. If they can't be your main driver they want to cancel you. Tell them to GTH.

My Barclays Apple rewards card is not awesome and the service is substandard. I'm looking forward to closing it this billing cycle. It was a regrettable decision to apply for it when buying an Apple product.

And this is the reason that I would NEVER want anything from Barclays to be my primary card. I'd take CapOne any day of the week..LOL

It seems foolish to irritate all your customers with lowering limits, but I have a feeling they want to be able to say the next down turn or depression that they did everything they could to minimize risk.

From a cautious bankers perspective its a pretty good practice, for the customers it means less trust of monetary access.

Well I guess the joke is on me . When I logged in last night it was after midnight and you know how sometimes their online data gets wonky. I logged in today and my CL has been restored back to 8k! Sorry Barclays I jumped to conclusions too fast but hey, can you blame me ? Lol

This is starting to worry me. As someone who flies JetBlue a lot, and also doesn't have a long credit history, I'm torn. I'd like to keep Barclays in my lineup for the long-term. They've been good to me so far, but you never know. My highest limit is with them, so who knows. For now, I'm not letting stuff like this scare me..but still.

Oh wow. Case closed! I know I've logged in before and it was giving me an incorrect limit. I guess if you log in late at night Barclays systems can sometimes act weird. Hmm.

I'm glad your limit wasn't actually decreased.
