Walmart Store Card upgrade to MC letter - anyone else get one today?

Hello friends!

I received a letter today stating they are upgrading my Walmart StoreCard to the Mastercard version. Says it will happen in April - wondering if Synch is going to start doing this to all of their "store" card offerings eventually?

Had an upgrade happen to my PayPal Connect account to their MC version a few months ago.

DW got one today too - her CL is $10k and TU 806 (this month). I "had" a Walmart MC (upgraded from store card) , but closed it a little over a year ago in favor of my Sams Club MC (same $10k CL on each). She mention "I didn't ask for this" I told her don't worry iyts a good thing, other than the high APR.

Yes it's happening automatically. BTW, every time I've had a card replaced, say by the takeover of a different lender (issuer/backer) or "upgraded" to a bank card or say be converted to a new version (say to a Signature or Freedom to Freedom Unlimited) the account has NOT reported as a new account. It;s reported but not like a new card/account. .

I too got the letter yesterday and this is their 4th attempt to upgrade me..

As always I declined the offer which you can do by calling the number provided on the letter

I have no interest in adding a new account to my CR's

I am going to check my CR to see if my Paypal upgrade created a new account.

I "upgraded" my walmart card about 5 years ago when it was still the discover and it closed out the old one and reported a brand new trade line. Every other person I have seen that has upgraded from the walmart store card to the old discover or newer mastercard has also reported that it is a brand new trade line on their reports.

To be honest I rather to have the Bank Card version over the Retail version anyday of the week
