My Barclay Rewards card is what I use daily, The rewards are decent but it's hit a road block when it comes to growth. I'm looking for a card to take over the number one slot in my wallet. Chase, Discover and AMEX are out. They were included in my 2009 BK and I believe they all blacklist. I'd like a card that should provide me with a starting limit of at least $10K and have a proven track record of decent CLIs on a regular basis. I'm open to either cash or travel rewards.

My current scores range from 725 to 739. My BK is coming up on 8 years and I have 3 tax liens (DCU denied me for a card because of them).

Any suggestions?

My guess is that you'd need to disclose more about your spending to get solid answers here...

Like how much you would plan on spending per month on the card? How much of that spend would be in what categories? Would you always PIF? Do you travel? How does your income look? etc.

It looks like you've already got 10+ cards with over $100k in combined limits, so I suppose the question is what are you really looking for here that you don't already have?

Do you plan on keeping or closing the Barclay rewards card? I don't know anything about that card, so if you could describe the rewards structure that would be helpful as well.

I didn't notice an Citi cards in your signature. The premier or prestige could be nice big boy cards, depending on your spending patterns, as could the Costco card if you're a member there. Also didn't see a BofA card in your signature. The Travel Rewards is pretty cool if you have additional relationships with them that can bump up your rewards rate.

The Penfed platinum rewards suggestion was a good one, and if you're in their service area, my absolute favorite is the SSFCU Power Travel Rewards.

My monthly spending can range from about $1000.00 per month (normal expenses) to over $4000.00. I either pay statements in full or I pay them off before the statement closes. I list income as $75K but it can be higher. I travel once in awhile and currently have enough miles to carry me for a few years.

I'm looking for a card that is a step or two above the Barclay and Capital One cards that I have. Something that will have a decent starting credit line ($10K-$15K+), offer decent increases and I won't complain about some good rewards.

Something with good rewards that grows? Marvel Mastercard with Synchrony? Yummy SP CLIs every 2-3 months until you get to 15-20k and should stop. As mentioned, a travel option would be Citi TY cards. Are Amex charge cards counted in the blacklist?

Are all of your bad marks reported the same across all three bureaus? if you have a few that are missing I would apply with a bank that uses that respected Bureau that won't see as many baddies. Experian keeps them forever I'm going to say TransUnion might be missing some and that would be the Marvel MasterCard as stated above. To backup my argument even more Barclays let you have credit and you use it all the time. they are in bed with TransUnion as well so I would hit up something from synchrony again

Any suggestions?

if you go to a branch do you get a pre-qual for any chase cards? if you do I would combine combine the qs's and ventures and have 2 instead of 4 cards or if you don't need the venture fold the ventures into a single qs mega-card. to me venture is only for the bonus but that is just me. nothing beats chase for customer service and range of cards imo. also get a chase business profile at the branch when you are there if you dont have one - you will need a ein you can get online - and see if a ink prem pops up - 80K sign on bonus. other than that I would suggest nfcu for hith sl's. dont see the point of barclay anything, they are not in the same ballpark as citi, boa, chase and the cu's. edit: penfed does not like liens or self-emp and you will not know about a blacklist until you go to a chase branch. I am over 5/24 and both the csp and ink show for me, I am just waiting to churn the 70K csp if and when it pops up. the branch is the ticket with chase imo

All of my IIB accounts have fallen off. The only bad marks that I have is my BK and 3 liens. Each report has those.

I haven't tried to pre-qual for Chase in one of their banks. They probably have a long memory so I'd be surprised if I do that and get approved. Just pulled up my Cap 1 accounts to see if I can do a combination. Still nothing.
