PenFed Power Cash Rewards has arrived!

Received my credit card today! It sure is a cheap looking card though! Almost looks fake! Also, for those of you that received this card, does yours say "Signature" below Visa like it does in the picture on their website? I thought this was a Visa Signature card?

I got mine last week and it says "signature" under the Visa logo.

That's interesting. I think I should call them then to see what gives. The pic of the card on my account when I login shows it as a signature card too.

+1 card really looks like cheap.

Visa Signature starting limit is $5K your CL is lower than this amount. that's why you received "Visa" card

Someone enlighten me. What is a card that people consider to be nicely made? I swear; it seems like people say every card looks/feels cheap.

Don't know if you have this card but it feels flimsy, thin and the individual info isn't raised etc. I dunno....it's weird!

Discover it looks and feels nice.. CSP, United club I think most cards feel nice but there are some SUPER flimsy cards like the Saks fifth Ave store card... wow it feels like laminated paper..

Ah! thanks for clearing that up for me!! I swear the card looks fake lol.

If you make that phone call, please let me know if they send you a signature card. I applied, but since I already had a card with $17,500 only approved the Power Cash for $3,000. I combined the high limit to the new cars. It was mailed yesterday, so I don't know if it's the VS or not. Just curious.

Wasn't going to say anything but I thought the same when I got mine. Has to be the cheapest credit card I've ever had. Stick it into the chip reader slowly because it bends almost in half if you do it too fast and hit the end of machine too hard.

This is too funny, I agree, aesthetics of a card makes or breaks its appeal IMO. I dont have this card but I imagine it being as crappy looking as the Cap One QS1. Oh, and those with just the VISA verison of this card, thats because your limit is below $5k. VS is $5k+

Definitely not VS quality and I agree it took all the excitement out of the card when I saw it and tried to use it.

I recently changed my discover it card from its original blue textured design to gold. I was excited about it until i received the card. The gold discover looks like a card board with gold spray paint. No texture and classiness like the blue one. But i LOVE discover , and all the awesome benefits they offer so i dont mind. Amazon chase prime rewards looks pretty neat with being metal and all. However i am waiting for my penfed powercash to come in mail

love penfed powercash for its benefits and also I love penfed CU ))

Btw can someone tell me how many days after the approval did you get the email about penfed card being shipped? I havent received one yet. When i login it shows the powercash rewards card in my account ready to be activated.

I app'ed and was approved 2/22 and received the card yesterday 3/3. So, February a short month, it was 9 days. Not bad.

I didn't get any email saying that card being shipped. It took 6 days to receive the card.

aprroved on Monday night and received on following week Monday morning.

Mine came last week, as a Visa. My speculation was right; since I was approved for only $3k, because my previous card was already at $17.5k, it came as a regular Visa. Asked for the "upgrade", and I should see in a week or so if it arrives as VS. I'm okay either way.

I agree it could be better. My daily drivers are much more attractive cards so it's all good. I am very happy to be a part of Penfed, thanks to Baller and this forum.

Mine was approved on feb 28th and received it on march 6th. Used it on march 8th and on march 10th the first statement cut with full balance reported to credit bureaus. LOL~!. Didnt expect that. I recently got some insurance money and paid down almost all of my debts , but i used penfed cash rewards to pay DMV sales tax on two of our cars , so that i can meet the spend for 100 bonus plus 1.5% (22$) in rewards and as i had the cash ready in alliant CU checkings so i thought i will pay it back as soon as the balance posts. and i was waiting eagerly for the balance to move from pending to posted so that i can pay back and bring over all utilization of my credit down to less than 1%. BUT penfed generated the statement and reported the FULL 1405$ balance to bureaus on the same day as the balance posted. LOL. didnt have the chance to pay back as soon as it posted and before it reported to the bureaus. hahah. anyways i had to accept what IS , and pay it in full and now I wait a whole month for bureaus to update my utilization. This never happened with any other cards. i mean after activation there was at least a week or two before even the first statement generated. I thought i am planning well by using the card for sales tax payment and pay it back immediately after it posts before the statement cuts. but i was taken by surprise in this case. Atleast they paid the bonus and rewards immediately. infact they updated the balance minus 100 bonus , so thats great. 1402 instead of 1502. Penfed isa silent NINJA with very quick moves.
