Credit one closed for non use UPDATE 3/7

Well my credit one showed 0 available credit and 0 balance this morning online. I called and they said a letter is being mailed but mentioned it was for lack of use for 15 months even though I paid a monthly fee just to keep the age.

Surprised they closed it with me paying an $8 monthly fee.

UPDATE March 7-

my CK updated today and it shows

Credit One TransUnion

Credit One Equifax

so I guess they removed them as well for some reason

Bummer. You don't need em. I keep getting offers for no fee versions of Credit One but I no longer need them myself

I would consider yourself lucky. It definitely isn't worth the hassle simply for AAoA.

My theory is that they're attempting to shed their sub-prime image. They've come out with cards recently that have normal APR's, no AF's, and even *gasp* grace periods!

I think it's just going to add to the general public's confusion, as they become more and more like Capital One.

I've always wondered how they get away with using a virtually identical logo without CapitalOne going after them for trademark infringement... Are they secretly an unknown division of Cap1 or something?

DeeBee, you may be on to something here...

Lest we forget, it wasn't too long ago that Cap1 had a similar sub prime reputation!

They did a fine job converting there credit card offerings and becoming one oh the more respectable lenders around.

Sounds like the cost of maintaining and servicing your account outweighed the $8 / month AF. I wonder if this means that a increse in their fee might be on the horizon.
