Probably will NEVER get an AMEX EVER again.

I had a BCP that I wanted cancelled, and I called and told them to cancel exactly that card. Well they went in and cancelled both my BCP AND my Business AMEX and now they just sent me a letter saying that they won't be reopening my business card? It had a $10,000 line. Seriously so frustrated with them considering this was THEIR mistake.

Had a recent issue with Amex. They canceled my SPG Business application. It wasnt denied.. It was canceled. I have never heard of this. When I called to ask why, they had no idea. They just said they were going to continue processing it and then ran another inquiry without telling me or requesting permission. Other than this issue they have been decent.

Contact the executive office and tell them what happened (I just sent you a PM with the president's email address). The EO has the ability to listen to phone calls as well as chat conversations. I understand that it can be frustrating but give them a chance to fix it, don't throw a relationship away because of one person's mistake. I have been guilty of that and have regretted it later.

Call back to OPEN and ask to speak with a manager. Explain (calmly) that the agent closed the business card in error. They will require a call review to validate the error, but once that's done, an SDL will override and reopen it. The first time you called that agent didn't process it as an AMEX Error.

After trying again, they reinstated it. I emailed the EO and they actually called me back apologizing about the mixup and that the card has been reopened.

Congrats!!! Glad to hear you were able to have your account reinstated. What about any points you may have had? What are they doing about those?
