Offers on Chase's 'my offers' page are normally reliable from what I've seen. Being over 5/24 does make it tricky. If there is a local branch, going in could give you the same preapproval and get around the 5/24

Definitely was not looking to add anymore cards for awhile however on my Chase account page they show an offer for the CSP which by the way i not so recently just PC'd to reobtain their Chase Freedom Card again.

I previously had the CSP for a year.

In an effort to shore up my overall credit lineup, i added "other" alternative lenders who have come through nicely but am not so anxious (although i do plan to add another Chase Card) to rush into it anytime soon (or i didn't plan to).

Nothing is showed on Chase's Prequal which is completely understandable since i am over the 5/24 thingy and will be for a bit.

My question is this. Do Chase's "Offers" like the CSP they are currently displaying solid as the Prequals?

FWIW I didn't see that preapproval box at the lower section that usually suggests a good possibility of approval.

Thanks

Hi CM7,

Here is some information that I hope will be of help. My husband had not been a prior Chase customer in December when I checked the Chase prequals for him. He was qualified for CSP, Freedom and Slate. I applied for CSP for him and he received a $10,000 approval. I waited a few days and then applied for a Hyatt card for him, and he received a $10,000 approval on the 2nd card as well.

This may be a bit different than your situation as yours is showing in your Chase sidebar and his was a prequal from checking online, but from what I understand, Chase offers seem to be fairly solid when they show up online under your "offers".

Specific APR always helps as well vs. displaying a range.

There was a post here on myfico yesterday in which someone had a green check mark in their Chase offers online and it seemed fairly solid.

Here also is a helpful post:

http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/Logged-into-my-Chase-credit-card-account-with-multiple-offers/td-p/4888836

Good luck, my friend.

I am being too lazy to look them up, but there have been a few threads recently where I chimed in that I had no prequals from Chase, but on December 31st when I logged in to my Chase account, I had the green check mark next to offers and had solid APR offers for CSP, FU and Slate. Took them up on the CSP and was immediately approved. I was over 5/24. It seems that if there are actual cards displaying with set APRs, the offers are a go. If you have things like "Explore our credit cards" in there instead, that's as good as cold apping.

I posted a very similar post to this one the other day (didn't get a clear answer). It gave me a list of offers Freedom, Freedom Unlimited, and Chase Sapphire Preferred. I went with the Freedom card because I didn't want to be too overzealous and go for the CSP since it is one of my dream cards. I was approved for the Freedom card. Gave me a 7-10 day response but I called Chase and told them I should have received an immediate approval if they were the one's reaching out to me about pre-approved cards on their app. They "verified" my identity by asking the usual silly questions and then boom! given a $2500 SL. After I received my card they sent me a direct offer for the CSP card but I felt like it was a set up to apply because I thought I would have to wait 6 months to apply for another card from them and I don't want to take a chance being declined.

Looking at your wallet and your Fico scores, you are sure doing A LOT better than me so I'm sure they would have no problem approving you for the CSP. I hear really good things about CSP and it seems like it is expected to be the new IT card since the AMEX Platinum cards annual fee is set to be increased to an unreasonable amount that has turned people off about keeping the card. From what I read, the next best thing is CSP.

But I also used chase.com/prequalified, so YMMV.

If you have their mobile app, there is a new tab 'Offers' and it shows you a list of offers you are pre-approved for and can apply for it easilu on the app.

I'll need to mull over this offer awhile and see what drives my motivation.

It's nice for a change to not act on impulse or need alone but weigh matters out awhile before going to app.

For a sure double-pull (Citi also does this) the SL would likely show where this profile currently stands with Chase internal scoring system too.

Really appreciate you weighing in on this today.

Great that you are able to not act on impulse! Another user in another thread just did the Offers for the CSP today and got the same $12k SL and 16.49% APR as I did. (Important to note that I was denied a CLI on my $4200 Freedom about 10 minutes before I took this offer.) My scores were all on par with your lowest (EQ), and it was indeed a double pull for me - TU & EX, which look really good in your case! Best of luck, and let us know if you decide to go for it. So far all of the data points seem to prove out that the cards in Offers will be approved.

I just so happened to stop into chase on my lunch and spoke with a personal banker. As far as the 5/24 rule is concerned, it only matters for the Chase Sapphire Reserved card. For their other cards, its not really judged but may be on a case by case basis.
