Discover was my first credit card. I started with a $500 limit due to a baddie that was on my report at the time. They have been slow to grow as I opened up the account 15 months go and only have a $2300 limit. I waited a year before applying for both the CapitalOne Quicksilver and AMEX BCE. They seem to be tolerable of those 2 new accounts, but I did wait a years before applying for any other cards, though.

I have had my Discover IT card about 4 months (my 4th statement just cut). I started with a $4k limit and requested a CLI after 3 statement. They gave me a $3k increase to $7k. I am pre-approved for a Comenity card and they keep sending me emails reminding me of that. My question is, is Discover sensative to cardholders getting new accounts after getting their card. I don't want to mess up with Discover and it is my go-to card. Do you 'guys' know if I would be messing up if I accept the Comenity card? If there is a change they would AA me, then I will not get the Comenity card. I appreciate your imput, as always..

I've never heard of anyone other than Barclay expecting to be your one-and-only. You should be fine to take the offer.

Your signature shows you have four store cards. I've seen people on here getting in and staying in with Discover while having double-digit store cards. You should be fine.

Good to go. The most important part is when you got approved for your Disco They very much jones for you as they gave you a 3k increase after only 3 statements. Your probably on the fast track for a big limit. Just becareful more with Comenity ,especially their majors, Comenity giveth and sometime, taketh away.

Getting bumped to 7K w/ Disco means you're making progress in your build. Why bother with Comenity? Does it actually serve a purpose for the next 5 years?

You locked down a mortgage.

You have a couple of prime cards.

Your scores are on the cusp of 700's across the board.

The only way to keep up the momentum at this point is hit them for CLI's every 6 months and keep your browser off the app sites. Once you're in the 750 territory it might be time to start trimming things and potentially adding 1 for every 2-3 you cut. CLI hunting will itch that scratch when it starts. Hitting up Synch CS for 15-25K on Lowe's/WM will give you your big limit rush. Hitting NFCU to 25K should help scratch the itch as well. Citi and Barclay are probably going to be on their own for awhile until you hit the magic scores they're looking for. If you're paying to hold the C1 and 1st Natl it's time to dump them. Don't add more store cards as you're captive to spending there with them only and they aren't viable options anymore now that you're over 10K limits.
