Barclaycard Ring BT

I just got approved for the Barclaycard Ring (through the backdoor number provided here) and I looked for the balance transfer and it isn't showing anything. Why is that? Will it pop up once I have my card?

I just went through this. It will show up as one of your BT offers in a couple days. It then took my transfer a good week to process.

Be careful, Barclay will wack you with a CLD if you apply for any new credit or inquiries. They will wait until you have a balance then slash your line a hundred bucks from your balance.

I had the Ring and Cashforward and closed them with zero balances because of the trickery they play on people.

Do you really think Barclay is the card to do BT'S?

xgac12x since you recently opened the Barclay Ring ... I assume you know the ongoing variable Apr is13.75% not the original low rate of 8.75%. When they jacked the rate with no rewards they effectively killed the card for many of us. My experience does have taking BTs on this card with no problem yet. Note, Barclays cut my Ring CL by $5,000 one day and restored it the next (I said nothing as it was going to see cancellation - with Barclays who knows?).

Careful poking this bear! Lots of posts about cld's. I have the Ring and NFL cards, no issues, but no bt"s. Lots of more customer-friendly offers out there, good luck!

Be very careful with a Barclay BT. They will SP you every month. If you get a CLI or a huge balance increase on a non-Barclay card, they CLD you card.

If you simply do the BT and sock drawer the other card, you won't have a problem.

I'm not the OP, but aside from the CLD issues, why wouldn't it be good? 0% BT fee and 0% APR for 15 months. For me, that offer was only matched by Discover.

My BT is done, so even if they get mad and CLD me, I have my free loan for 15 months. I hope they're good to me, but the deal was too good not to try.

It is a great deal! I hope they don't CLD you down to $100 over your balance. Then you will have a card maxed out. But I'M SURE you could easily pay it off immediately or transfer it to another 0% BT card, right?

To risky...Barclay is unreliable, but very predictable.

I guess I was aware of all of that going in, so I made a choice to take the risk. I'm already situated to handle it if they do that to me. I still hope they don't of course.

Just to add to the other side of the discussion, my wife got the Ring about 7 months ago when it was still 8.25%. She has done 2 balance transfers, 2 cash advances, several new account openings (and a number of them by me adding her as an AU on new cards) and about $40k in CLIs on other cards. She has not had a CLD from her original $10k SL. Other than being one of her lowest CLs, no issues at all with the card. I should have cold-apped for it before they changed it up since they are sending me the now standard 13% offers.

I have never had an issue doing BTs with my Ring credit card. I have done 2 regular BTs with them, but it takes too long. Now, I use the checks they send out. I write the check out to myself, deposit it into my account, it clears the next day, and I pay the creditor directly myself. DONE!
