I'm happy to say that I will be closing on a mortgage loan for a home this Friday 4/28. I was then thinking about doing a little app spree about a week or so after closing and after getting things moved in (May 8th). As for credit cards I have the Discover IT, Capital One Platinum Card and the Chase Freedom Unlimited. I am going to first apply for the Capital One Quicksilver card since I think my approval odds are good, they are always giving me auto CLI's on the Cap 1 Platinum card that I have. I have never had a Citi credit card before though. They have sending me card offers in the mail like every week for the Citi Double Cash Card since September 2016 but I have not applied. Then about a week ago they sent me a card offer for their shiny rare Citi Diamond Preferred Card, no intrest for 18 months. They only sent me that card offer once, and ever since then in the mail every week I get the CC offer for their Citi Simplicity card, also no intrest for the first 18 months. I know if I apply for too many citi cards at once they will probably deny all of the applications, and I've been doing some reading on the forums that make me doubt if I would get appoved for one of their cards or not, such as their dislike of high inquires, open new accounts with low CLs, and sometimes they don't auto CLI. My TU is 740 and my EQ is 745 and mty FICO is 681, got about 7 inquires, but I have 2 that are going to fall off by the end of may and another 2 to fall off in June. What are my odds? I'm thinking about applying for the Citi Diamond Preferred card or the Citi DC, not sure which to apply for first since I do like cash back cards and I would like a new CC to purchase some furniture with and not have to worry about intrest for awhile.

Honestly, it sounds to me like your credit card desires are wants and not needs. That said, you can really just go with whatever you want. You did say that you like CB but also a 0% period for buying furniture, but outside of that didn't mention what you swipe you cards for the majority of the time so it's difficult for anyone to give you suggestions without knowing what your spend is and what it goes toward.

As brand new home owner, you can never go wrong with Lowes, and Home Depot. You WILL need them. Home depot is backed by Citi. Lowes is backed by Synch.

Best credit wishes to you, and congrats on your new home!

I do like CB rewards cards. I usually only use my cards to make large purchases, and I always pay them down within 6 to 8 months, which is why I would like to take advantage of the no intrest intro period. Right now I don't have a balance on any of my other credit cardsn and I never paid the minimum balance on CC, I'm just planning on buying some furniture and a little bit of home improvement (paint) and paying it off in like 6-12 months.

My daughter is also closing on 4/28 and I told her the same about Lowes.

congrats on the new home... and i used to think the same thing of the Diamond Preferred (oooooohhhh fancy Diamond in the name must mean its good... right) if you actually look at the card the onlything you are getting if 0% apr. it used to be a good card 2 years ago when it was the top of the line card they had a perk where your spouse flies for free when you book a ticket through them but it all went away with the premier prestige cards.... either way i would recomend a cash back/ 0% apr card for home stuff like the Double cash or even a Discover card, get the one where they match your cash back and give you 0% apr for like 12 months.
