Has the Walmart card financing changed?

I have had the Walmart store card for a couple of years but rarely use it and have never used it for special financing, thought I like knowing that I can use it if needed. It used to seem fairly easy. You had a little bar code that they could scan to give you special financing for purchases over certain amounts. Now it seems like I can't find the bar codes anywhere (granted, I never use the card to generate a statement so I don't know if they still print on the statements), and I have received a couple of emails from Synchrony explaining their financing which seems to be more restrictive in wording. The email says that from time to time they may offer special financing on certain purchases. Is the 6/12/24 month financing for purchases over a certain amount using the bar code gone?

We wanted to let you know about special financing promotions that may be offered on the Walmart Credit Card. From time to time, you may be offered one of the following promotions when you make a qualifying purchase: No Interest For 6, 12, 18, or 24 Months

It seems they have changed their structure to compete directly with Amazon.

That offer used to be a banner click on Sync's website but it's not there anymore, so I think it's not available now. If you have an old printout or a picture of it, you could try it. If it did run, it wouldn't generally expire til the end of the year but I haven't seen one at all this year.

I was wondering the same thing.

So I chatted with them asking where I could download the flier and they stated that "Offers are added by the cashier now".

I wish I would have screen shot this conversation.

I haven't tried it since we are paying off stuff from a Christmas promotion.

I think someone else should chat or send a message to confirm this as I do not believe every CS i speak to.

Ive seen less and less of it online. I asumed they were phasing it out. But I noticed they have a stack of the coupons for it on the electronics counter at my walmart (by cell phone brochures). I don't know if they are at every one, or even if they're old and no one cleaned up. But I glance whenever I walk by and they're still there everytime.

I believe you just have to ask for the special financing at checkout. I know last year I had a printout to take in with me and the cashier had to scan it first.

I hope the offers aren't added by the cashier. What if they have no clue about it (as happens with many of them)? I wish they would give more details, like what dollar amounts may trigger the financing. At least Amazon has theirs out there for everyone to see. If I am making a big purchase at Walmart, I would like to know if the financing option is there. hopefully we can get more details.

At my store, the special finance barcode flyer is by the site to store pickup counter and/or customer service counter.

10:46:16 AM : JP: Thank you for waiting. Special financing have not change, any promotions that is paid in full on or before the expiration date is free of interest.

From what I remember, they were instore only. I think this is a big miss on Walmart's part. They have more high dollar items on the website, why not extend the special financing to those items as well?

Couldn't agree more ... in fact, I was just thinking late last week that without special financing online, I'm not sure there's a need for this card in my wallet.

When I buy bigger ticket items, I do so after a fair amount of research online, which I can't really do in the store, so I'm more apt to pull that trigger online.

I find the Amazon card much more appealing in that regard.

I just got an email from Wal-Mart with a financing offer. Same numbers as before and a print coupon link.

Sorry for the double post but I just looked at the actual coupon/certificate and it says once the 0% promotion is over a variable APR will apply. I don't see anything that indicates a differed interest. It says no interest will be assessed during the promotion.
