I never shop at home improvement or wholesale clubs.... but DOC website said if you go to HD you can buy GCs and they ring up as a regular purchase so you get the 5% (or 10% on Cash Match still)
I may go do this today.

I do shop at Costco. Bought my 60" TV on costco.com using Discover and got the 5%/10%. Really excited about that.

Also, when I just went on my Disco homepage to activate Q3, it said Amazon.com and more coming for Q4. If that's true, that's going to be great for Xmas shopping.

Good to hear. I had nothing that I needed to get from home-improvement stores this quarter, and Costco is the only warehouse store I have a membership with (and I haven't come across anything I want to buy on costco.com badly enough to expend some of my Discover credit on), so it'll be good to keep my card purring along by buying a meal every so often with it during 3rd quarter. Even better if Amazon does become part of the 4th quarter benefit.

Awesome. I haven't used my Discover card much since getting it a few months ago as I prefer to earn points/miles...but I eat out a bit so I might have to put my restaurant spend on this.

I was thinking the same thing

There may be situations where one of those payment systems does not register the MCC code correctly, but they would be rare.

Remember all the hoopla when Discover joined Apple Pay? 10% back to get you to put your Discover on Apple Pay transactions? I have not experienced any situation where Apple Pay did not get a bonus on cards such as Freedom or Discover or AMEX.

I do eat out a couple of times a week, though generally at inexpensive places - all-you-can-eat buffets like Great American, Golden Corral or various Chinese places (there are quite a few in my area, many of them offering teppanyaki-style grills/Mongolian BBQ), sandwich shops, Peruvian chicken (pollo a la brasa), things like that. I spend a helluva lot eating out and wasn't really aware of the amount until I started using check tracker. So I'll be racking up and plus I'm still in the double your cashback until January. I'm loving these CB rewards!!!

A worthwhile category being eating out/bars.. Whether I use my CSR or Discover will be a tough choice though as value UR's at min 3%, but in reality alot higher. Might give Discover some lover this coming 3rd quarter, but CSR certainly will receive alot of it without caps as well.

Very nice! I'm now considering applying for a second Discover card to try to get that double cash back bonus for this. I spend way too much on eating out.
