topic How to fund NFCU secured card? in Credit Cards

So I'm a new NFCU member and I'm trying to transfer money to the account so that I can fund a secured card. The problem Is NFCU doesn't allow transfers from outside the bank into it. I also do not have access to do mobile deposits for 30 days. In addition there are no ATM's anywhere near me that allow deposits into my NFCU account. Any other ideas?!

I would just call them and pass along your debit card number over the phone.

If you are funding initially, you can call them and they will let you use a debit card to do so.

If you are trying to add more to your savings/checking account from another bank/c.u., try this:

1. Log in

2. Select the account you want to transfer money to (for example, savings).

3. On the right-hand side of the page under "Quick Actions", select "Make a Transfer".

4. Directly under the word Transfers there are three options. Click on "View & Add Accounts"

5. Here you will find your option to add an external account.

I tried that. I added my Penfed account but it won't let me transfer to checking or savings. I called and apparently I have to initiate the transfer from Penfed the first time

Yes, you have to "push" money into your accounts for deposits. The Transfers tool at NFCU will not let you "pull" money into a checking or savings account -- it will let you pull funds into a loan or credit card though, for payments.

If you're located in an area that has a 7-Eleven, you can deposit cash via the ATM to your NFCU account but it does take 5 days to post. Other Co-Op partner networks can be found at this link: https://www.navyfederal.org/branches-atms/co-op-network-atms.php
