I had a question...is the Ebates Card coded as a store or credit card on your report? I know it is open loop, since it's a Visa card.

Mine reports as a credit card. Rebates isn't a store card.

Store cards do affect 5/24 as well. 0 new cards are pretty much what you have to do if you are after Chase cards.

It's been reported here that you might get around 5/24 by applying in a branch. The banker might not have been entirely wrong.
