Capital One Secured Card...closed. Deposit Return?

I finally did what everyone had suggested and closed my secured Capital One card after 6 years. Sad to see it go but I have racked up quite a bit on my 0% Freedom Unlimited and the deposit is definitely going to help me pay down my card. I'm only sad because I really wanted to see the card get graduated but all research seems to indicate that it simply won't.

So while I hate that everything is automated at Capital One...they made it crazy easy to close an account online and for that I am grateful. When CLI's, upgrades, approvals, denials are all automated...it kind of lacks the personal touch that is associated with good customer service.

They gave me the key to the credit world (with a deposit) and let me flourish. My scores got as high as 780...thanks to starting out with this card. I just don't understand the logic of letting someone grow their credit with you and then not offering them better service as they become a customer with great credit scores and a great relationship. I will not take a triple-pull for any of their cards that are rivaled or outlclassed by other cards in their category. They ultimately lost what could have been a customer by having all of these policies that work against each other. I am just a number to them and I'm fine with that. They served their purpose.

Anyone know how long until I get my deposit? I see anywhere from 6 business days to over 2 months on the forums.

Sorry you had to close out a 6 year old card , that really sucks that yours didn't graduate, I don't understand their logic on this , they are graduating new card holders at less than a year now . You would think they would most definitely put their longer term customers first on the list to graduate, it's not right at all , I can't say I blame you one bit

For the last 2 years, I've had my mortgage and rent (worked in another state, hence the rent for an apartment. With the way the market is and my love for my city, I didn't sell my home. Also, I knew one day, I would return there full time). My mortgage does not report to any CB.
