CSR sign on bonus the same as CSP?

I already have the CSP, but was looking at the CSR sign on bonus today. I was surprised to see that it's the same: 50k points for a $4k spend in 3 months. I don't know why, but I just assumed the CSR bonus would be > the CSP bonus... probably because of the $450 AF compared to the $95 AF. Does the CSR ever offer a greater bonus? For those that have chased the bonus on one of these products, have you chased it on the other as well? Thanks for any opinions and insight on this!

The CSR bonus was 100,000 points in the first few months after it was introduced.

I was aware that Chase had reduced the bonus (sometime in the last couple of months, maybe...?) but I didn't realize that it's now the same as the Preferred. That doesn't seem to make much sense, does it?

Believe for in-branch apps the CSR offer was 100k but that end last month I think.

I think the in-branch offer did last a while longer than the general one, but it the beginning it was for all approvals. I app'd for it online last August & that's the bonus I received. I used those points & a few more generated from my spend to pay for a trip to New York!

The 100K points ended March 12th. Perks are still VERY nice though if applicable to lifestyle. I recently went the Amex plat route due to 5/24 with Chase.

IMO, I dont think that big of a bonus for CSR will come back. I do however think the bonus should be slightly higher for the CSR, but after you factor the benefits, travel credit and 3X etc for another 55 bucks basically the CSR kills CSP.

The CSR is far superior to the CSP in every way and the reality is that the AF difference is $150 vs $95 after you are reimbursed the $300 travel credit. It is highly doubtful that the CSR bonus will ever go back to 100K as Chase took a bath with bonus and are not likely to repeat it. I would expect in the not too future that the CSP is either nerfed or eliminated completely.

Well, except for those who just want to try things out. Having the CSP fee waived the first year makes a bit more of a difference (a lot of URs "for free", rather than paying $150 for them) Or those who want UR to redeem as cash and don't travel enough to be sure of the $300 credit.

But other than that, yes, and it's certainly possible that the CSP will go the way of the CS

I am sure you know this but adding an au to a csp yields another 5k or at least it did a month ago

I got the CSP completely for the sign on bonus, no other reason really aside from the ability to move some of that limit to another Chase card. To me, the perks between the CSP and CSR are irrelevant as I have no intentions of ever using the card for anything outside of the initial spend to get the bonus.

I just started this thread because I found it strange that the sign on bonus for these two products is the same when the AF is dramatically different. I would think maybe 70-75k points for the CSR, for example. Good article linked above, which certainly explains why Chase got rid of the 100k offer.
