I have been working on rebuilding my credit for sometime. I am finally at a 686, but not where I want to be. I am working an extra job in order to pay off my credit cards. I have paid off all smaller store cards and have 0 balances on them. I am now working on my other cards. I want to pay down Barclays first because i have the highest APR with them. I made three payments this month ranging from $60-$400.00 I would like to pay an additional $1000.0 on them before the month closes. I have also recently opened an AMEX card. Will making a larger payment then normal to Barclays along with several smaller ones cause an AA on my account. I have a nice CL with them at $4700. I generally only apply for one new card every six months. I have never been late. If I am going to to scare them off by paying them down, I would just as soon pay Capital One. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You should have no issue. BUT, if they AA you for doing that, its time to find another lender that a little more mentally stable

Been a faithful member of Barclays since 2012 and never an issue with them. As long you are making decent size payments($100+ month) you won't get any AA. What Barclays doesn't like is 4000 balances and $50 payments every month.

I'm new around here)

I have a barclays card and pay it in full every month. Oddly enough they kept giving me a credit line increase (though I did rack it up some months).

I don't think they will close the account or anything like that. Now mind you have been using this card for a year or so now but I am gradually switching to another card and won't be using them that much. I will probably put one or two things on auto payment with them just to show that I am using it.
