Interesting question about WaMu and Chase

Suppose your WaMu card is lost or becomes inoperable, will they replace your WaMu card with a Chase card ?

Best way to get the answer to that one is to call 'em and ask.

I think because it has not officially converted over yet, you would probably will get a wamu card but i agree with Scamp, you should definitely call and ask.

Also, i would ask if there is a replacement fee.

I dont think that is the way with Chase or Wamu but i do know of some companies that will charge you a fee to replace the card.

Just stating this for some newbies who might not know.

I have never paid a fee for a replacement card.

WAMU once had my mortgage, but at the peak of the real estate bubble they sold most of their prime mortgages to Wells Fargo because WAMU wanted to go after higher-rate business, and we all know where that business model got them.

Yep, it got them bought out by Chase.

I actually lost my Wamu card about 2 weeks ago. It was replaced with another Wamu card.

I would imagine that up until your account is actually converted to a chase account (March) your card will be replaced with a WAMU card because... well... it's still a WAMU card.

What about after the conversion? Has anyone ever had this experience. I would find it awsome if I could get the Chase card sooner. I'm also an original WaMu customer not Providian.

Just got my replacement cards since my WAMU card expires in March.... and guess what it is an ugly gray WAMU card! I lost my nice ruby red card to an ugly gray one. They also informed me that I will have to pay the default rate of 33% until I have a zero balance (currently 4,500) since I was over my credit limit twice ($3.60 and $62.74) in the past 12 months, It has been over 5 months since the last over the limit fee, I will try and call the backdoor number to see if I can reduce the interest,

I'm pretty sure you won't get a Chase card by reporting lost or stolen before March 9. They don't official convert to Chase until then. After that, more than likley you'll receive Chase branded plastic.

Well what about reporting to the credit reporting agencies. I know it'll now report as Chase but will we still retain the same history ect. and will this be immediate?

It should still report the same history, your account was not closed. And it should be immediate.

But I don't work for Chase, so I'll find out how it works out come March same as you! Hopefully there won't be major headaches.
