I mentioned in that lengthy thread that I had gotten an upgrade from my CapOne Platinum Card to a CapOne QS (I already have a QS1 card).

What is the real difference between QS and QS-1 ? Anything that will make my credit journey more pleasant?

The QS 1 has a fee while the QS has no fee. I would think the QS can grow to a higher limit

The Quicksilver is the superior card. With the Quicksilver One they designed it to give you the Quicksilver rewards while not trusting you by hitting you with a yearly $39 fee. This is great for them because they can issue you a card and you get rewards. The regular Quicksilver was designed as a standard card for those that can be trusted to pay back the money and by extension the yearly fee is $0. Basically by having applied for the Quicksilver One you made a major mistake since the Platinum would have been better in most cases. Anyway all cards are better without annual fees when in the low range.

I wouldn't consider any card with an annual fee, even at the beginning of my rebuild (and certainly not now at this stage) unless I had ironclad guarantees that it would graduate to a no-AF card after so many months, or unless it had superior rewards for something I purchased regularly that simply weren't available anywhere else.

Hey EpicSwoleness1 – no need to give up on your QuicksilverOne just yet.

I had a QuickSilverOne for 7 years. Every year I’d call and request a waiver of the annual fee and every year Capital One did grant an annual fee waiver. After the first few years, I was able to get Capital One to permanently waive the annual fee on the card. Just this year, I upgraded the card to a regular QuickSilver. (I had not been in any particular hurry to upgrade because a QS1 with no fee is exactly the same as a QS).

If you like your QS1, keep it. Try asking for a fee waiver it comes due.
