Does it make a difference? I have read here that it does sometimes. If so when you call what questions will they ask, and what are the best reasons to give for why you need the increase? Also things to definitely not say.

Also I read if they have a chat feature that is just as good to use vs hitting the button.

My profiles especially on the BJ's synchrony are pretty solid too. I have charged 8.5k on that one over the last 2 months and paid it all off. Lots of uses in the previous months before that too (I don't know how far they go back, but about a year ago I had 15k charged and paid off in a few months time too). I have a bunch of small 500-900 limits that I charge up to limit every month, pay them off every time so the profiles on those are good too. But I will definitely call on the BJ's if that works better. The small ones I will probably just hit the button, I'm not going to get much of an increase anyway on those I would guess.

Also things to definitely not say.

Also I read if they have a chat feature that is just as good to use vs hitting the button.

It's hard to answer your questions because they are not specific... Can you be a bit more specific? Are you planning to request increase from what credit card company?

Every credit card company does credit increase differently!!

I haven't ever got any increases so all of them!

Specifically Wal Mart, BJ's (both synchrony) Citibank (have 2), Chase, Sun Trust, Capital One (have 2). They all have buttons on the website you can just click from what I have seen.

Here are a few notes based on my own observations and experiences...

First of all, unless I'm mistaken BJ's is Comenity, not Synchrony, so I'll leave that one to someone else (I don't have any Comenity products). I do know that Comenity can be generous, but there is said to be a "method to the madness" to getting Comenity CLIs. I'm sure someone will chime in shortly...

For Walmart, the button/chat works for many, but the most generous CLIs come from calling Credit Solutions (note that this isn't the 'regular' number on the back of the card). They don't care why you want the CLI, and they aren't big on small-talk... they'll ask your income, if you rent/own, and how much you're requesting - that's it. Generally they then put you on hold for a couple of minutes while they do a SP on your TU. Note that there is a thread regarding Synchrony 'Blue Envelopes', and it's thought that seeking aggressive CLIs with multiple Synch cards in a short time-span might be a factor. That said, seeking a CLI on a single account should be fine.

Citibank... you can try online, and it will tell you if a HP is needed. You can usually try every six months. The only time I've heard of getting a different result with a rep is if the account is brand new, and you want a higher starting credit line... in this case a rep can sometimes help (although usually with another HP). For established cardholders, I don't think button vs. rep makes a difference.

Capital One... same results via button, chat, or phone rep.

Chase... is there a button for Chase? If so, I've not yet found it. You can request Chase CLIs via secured message (SM) or phone, but it will be a HP and they are said to generally be stingy (at least relative to other lenders). Many people just open a new card and move the credit lines around, since in either case there's a HP, however if you're concerned about your AAoA this might not be advisable.

Sun Trust... I don't have any experience with them, so I'll leave that one to others for input.

Hope this helps.
