Travel Delay Protection - Chase

Hi,

So I recently got a Chase card that offers this benefit. It says,

"
Benefit Information
What is Trip Delay Reimbursement?
Trip Delay Reimbursement covers up to a maximum of ve hundred ($500.00) dollars for each purchased ticket for reasonable expenses, on a one-time-basis, incurred if your Covered Trip is delayed by a Covered Hazard for more than twelve (12) hours or requires an overnight stay. To be eligible for this coverage, you need to purchase either a portion or the entire cost of your Common Carrier fare using your Account".

I'll be flying Spirit Next Month using this card (If you don't know Spirit is Notorious for delays, delays and more delays).

So I'm just wondering for those of you that have had to use this benefit/feature how did you go about it?

I know it's up to $500, did you stay at the Hilton/Mariott near the airport what was/wasn't reimbursed?

The only way I fly Spirit is with the Big Front Seats, otherwise I won't, I just won't it's terrible.

Their prices were just too low to pass up. Total with bags AND 2 Big Front Seats came up to less than any other airline without bags and just regular economy seating....so that's why I'm going Spirit. Lol

Sooooo the real question is have you ever used this benefit?

I understand . Keep in mind it has to be a 12 hour or longer delay requiring an overnight stay. The thread on FT and a related blog article discusses the benefit and what documentation that you need in great detail.

This is why I told people the United fiasco won't cost them any business. All most people care about is cost on airline seats.
