Chase Income update email.

Today I received an email to update my income with Chase. In the body of the email it stated that the info is used o determine CLI. My freedom is currently at 6.3k and CSP is at 10.3k.

My question is has anyone actually received a CLI via income update? Or is it just chase making sure they check their boxes and have yearly updated income and nothing will come of it?

Umm, I have never received such email before.

I do know that is why credit card companies want to know your income.

And they also want to determine if they should CLD you as well.

Whatever you do, don't click on any links in the email. Instead log into your Chase online account and do the update there. I'm surprised Chase made their request by email. Most lenders ask you when you log into your online account.

I'm not worried about a CLD or AA. Especially from Chase! We run about 2000-3500 through CSP alone every month and PIF and when we use the freedom for 5 percent cash back we PIF as well. Plus, I've held several car loans with chase and a mortgage and an a king relationship well over 10 years. Have a solid relationship with them.

Just never received an email regarding income update for a "potential credit line increase" before.

Sorry, banking relationship.

It wasn't a phishing email. I independently logged in and it was the first thing to pop up on my chase APP

In theory, the CARD Act of 2009 requires card issuers to not only obtain but maintain cardholder's ability to repay credit obligations. Most of my card accounts ask me to update that about once a year when I log in.

I received the same email, Andrew. I entered the updated info and nothing happened LOL. I had heard before about people receiving an email indicating that they were eligible for a CLI once the income had been updated and thought it finally happened to me. Nope.

And to clear things up for all y'all, it was a legitimate Chase email.

Yeah, every once in awhile I'll get pop ups on my Synch, Capital One, and AMEX accounts asking me to update my income so assuming it's not a phishing scam it's SOP.

Maybe I wasn't clear in my first post because I was using my iPhone. My question doesn't have to do with the legitimacy of the email, or worry about CLD, or why they requested it. Hence I said I kni chase might be just checking their boxes with the update and after that I talked about my relationship with chase for 10 years.

My question is solely based on the wordage of the email. That updated income is used for credit line increase eligibility. So my question is has anyone received a CLI from updating their income when requested by Chase. And it only applies to Chase in this thread. Thank you.

NO, never heard of anyone getting a CLI from Chase by soley updating their income.

Chase is known for being stingy with CLI's... I've gotten one in the greatly two years I've had the card and it was only a 1k bump, not impressed. I did get a notice to update my income, after I had already did so, so I just investigated it, re-entered the info and submitted it. No extra luv yet, not holding my breath either...

I had a Slate card that was PC'd to Freedom and now Freedom Unlimited. The starting CL was $2k 7.5 years ago and it's now $13.5k. I've never directly solicited a CLI from Chase. I've received the same email you described a few times over the years and it typically resulted in an increase. There was significant career progression during these years for me so it might depend just how much your income increases. I also have the CSP with CL $16k and Freedom with CL $18k but those were opened years after the first card I spoke of. Go for it. I think you will likely get a bump.

Thanks Kump. I did do the update yesterday and have had a significant income increase. Truth be told I don't use the freedom that much anymore and don't put as much spending on it as I could. So I'm not really accepting a increase of any sorts. But hopefully when I'll be under the 5/24 I'll get a higher SL on the CSR than the CSP at 10.3k!! Fingers crossed

Just got the same chase email today to update income, I guess im not the only one. Seems like theyre just automatically sending them out to people.
