Maybe I have just always fell under it even though I didn't think so in the past but I have lost 2 comenity accounts in the last week because they had not been used in over 12 months so they are open but Frozen and you have to call in and they run a SP credit check and the system either instantly re-opens for charging or actually closes the account out. This might be old news but thought I would remind folks especially the ones with huge comenity lines like me if you want them to keep them active!

Yes that is very useful information CA and thanks for bringing that up.

It's obvious now if not before that they have their computer card systems set to some cut-off schedule after x period of months no activity.

Makes you wonder if it's Store and/orBankcard-wide or there are different groups of same type of accounts on another schedule for that or not.

Just had a thought about what CA shared and the reportings.

It seems likely you could check the months of inactivity from either credit reports or accounts but it's perhaps more accurate the non-reporting months on a credit report is where the cut-off is triggered for that.

Also it's correct that a push payment initiates a catch-up on the report. I never really bothered with doing it but that is an instant way to get them to update. It's also been shared before some other minor change you might do to your account can also trigger an update.

Like Comenity but they can drive you nuts sometimes with the way they stall on reporting.

Id be careful with fake updates... it seems to be geared towards an actual charge to card.

Keep in mind logging into your account or calling will not tell you rather you have gone inactive as I did both right before trying to use both of my cards and the online system and phone system welcomed me with my $6500 and $6800 CL ready to use but upon a human getting on the phone after the charges were denied I was informed it is "Open" but on "hold" if you agree to SP we can find out in seconds if it's "Open to Charge" again or "Oh, Sorry, we will send you a letter, we have closed your card!"
