What spend offers have you gotten lately?

Recently I have noticed more spend offers than I have seen in past years.

For example on my amex business gold I got an offer that if I spend 5k I got 50k points. That's basically a new signup offer without a HP!

I also got an offer for my barclays arrival card giving me 3x points for every dollar spent for a specific period of time.

What spend offers have you gotten on your cards that are not a regular part of the product? What do you think triggers such an offer? I suspect with amex my offer occured because my card was sitting in the sock drawer. I also noticed the offer came out about three months before my AF is due. Maybe they hope I meet the spend slowly and then have to pay the AF to get the bonus. Sadly for them I met the spend very quickly for that very reason and so there is ample time for the points to post.

Not recently. The gold card I stopped using several months ago after getting the signup. The arrival isn't a good earning card so I have had only minimal use on it over the past year and a half.

That's a nice offer I use my BGR all the time so I don't think I'll see any of those offers any time soon.

I got a neat offer on my everyday card where if I spend 100+ on my cable bill I will get 1k bonus points (I can get up to 3k), so since my cable bill comes out to over 100 a month I will just pay $101 and net the 1k bonus points so its like 10 points per dollar in bonus alone.

I'm kinda hoping they will give me a great upgrade offer to the plat like they did five or six months ago but time is kinda running out on that. This card doesn't do much for me normally so it will likely be ditched in a few months unless they come up with a retention offer that makes it worth holding on to.

I got a targeted 5% from Citi on restaurants through September 30th, which gives me $3500 total 5% cap with my Freedom and it cards. Also have a 5k points for $5k spend up to 3 times on my Amex Platinum which doesn't work for me right now since I'd rather get 15k SPG points for $15k spend on my SPG card than 10k SPG points with the bonus on the Platinum with the 3:1 MRPG ratio.

Edit: That should be MR to SPG ratio; colon followed by S results in emoticon.

Spend $300+ at Hiltons for 3500 MR . Spend $500 at Amex travel for 7500 MR or spend $500 at Ritz, get $100 back. Dont travel or hotel, lol go figure

From June 1-July 31, I got an offer on my REI Mastercard (US Bank) for 2% statement credit (up to $100) on all purchases once I spent $200. I reached that threshold by buying stuff at REI (10% member dividend + 5% REI MC toward dividend). Then, I used the card as my daily driver, which makes it close to a 3% cash back card (2% statement credit + 1% dividend; even with the $200 threshold - it ends up being about 2.9% if you spend a total of $5200). Even better when I bought some more stuff from REI (10% member dividend + 5% REI MC toward dividend + 2% statement credit). Also, during that promotion, US Bank then gave me another promotion for $25 statement credit for 3 online purchases.

They must have liked that I used my card for the last 2 months because I got another 2% statement credit off (up to $100) on all purchases once I spend $100 from August 1-September 30. So, it's my daily driver for the next couple months again.

I usually get this offer a few time a year, and I didn't really think about it being a bit of a better deal in cash back until recently (yes. I'm a little dense). I've taken them up on the offer a few times in the past, and now I think they just want me to make them as my daily driver, which works as long as they give me the incentive. Otherwise, I'll run back to my trusty Citi DC.

Double the normal sign-up bonus on the Freedom Unlimited by applying in branch. I don't know if I still have that offer or not.

My EDP has an offer to spend $3,000 to get an extra 3,000 MR, up to three such cycles, by Sept 30.

And an extra 4 MR on gas stations for a while

And an earlier 1 extra MR at Whole Foods through Dec 31

Combined with the 30-swipe accelerator, and the basic 3 Grocery, 2 Gas, the points counting gets complicated

Sadly, my Freedom card is officially losing the 10-points per swipe and 10% extra points in late August. Got the official letter recently.

Wouldn't it be nice if Chase made a spend offer to existing Chase Sapphire Reserve customers in the next few weeks to keep us on board when the annual fee hits? Such an offer could be structured in the form of "spend $1,000 a month in September, October, and November and receive a large points bonus on your December statement."

Citi DC offered me 5.99% APR till 3/18.... both as a pop up when I logged into my account, and in an email. Even though I tend not to carry balances I still said "heck yeah".

Other than APR offers for 0% (both BT and regular purchases), I never seem to get any bonus spend offers on my existing cards. Maybe they know I never carry balances so they mock me with the APR stuff. One of these days Chase, one of these days.

I did get a American Express Gold Delta offer in the mail today for 60k miles with $2000 spend in the first 3 months spend and no AF for the first year. It said to hurry so I hurried it to the recycle bin.

Earned 2,000 US Bank Flex Perks Points for spending $500 in 45 days. Ended in May.

Geez... how do I get offers like everyone is listing here?

Only two constant offers helping now is the extra MR point on Whole Foods and the extra MR point on Best Buy. Other than that, I don't have any grand offers like everyone else *sniffle*

I will check for some retention offers though as my PRG is uselss and the AF already hit. Same for my Platinum though I wouldn't close that one... maybe I'll get a good offer for both

Barclay offered $50 for $1K spend on my Rewards card. They also offered an extra 2% cashback on CashForward. I also have 0% APR offers on Citi DC, Discover, and Barclay Rewards.

Its ok, its an offer to encourage spend so I guess we can let it slide.
