Planning to app for the 3-2-1 card (Not the student version since that doesn't have the $150 bonus). See siggy for scores and limits. Util is currently < 1%. My income is part-time entry level (< $20k) but as you can see, Disco has already gifted me > $5k. How likely would BOA match that limit? I would like the get the VS version of the card, though that is not a dealbreaker. I simply don't want a toy limit. (On a side note, how likely would Chase or Cap1 be to match that limit on Amazon and Premier Dining, respectively?)

Thanks all!!!

I wouldnt really expect other banks to match limits right now as remember they dont always do that and your profile is still young. Really hard to say what Boa will give but a $1500 sounds more likely though it can grow. I started out at $1500 with my BBR and my income is not that great.

I think around $1000 SL. They don't give high SL. If you used it often then CL will probably grow. Otherwise you can reqest CL which would be a HP.

They did give me $2,000 which I have been happy with.

In my experience with my short credit history banks do not tend to match your limits they just give you what they want and feel safe extending.

Even when applying for cards backed by the same Bank they do not tend to match each other. Comenity gave me $3,000 on HSN with a shorter history but felt I only deserved $800 when I applied with Goody's (I had a longer history by this point).

Synchrony has done the same thing my AEO and Marvel card are at $10,000 each but they did not match that when I applied for my Belk Card.

I will tell you that Elan Financial gave me a $4,800 credit card with 6 months of history and cards that only had $200-$500 credit limits reporting.( I give this as an example because it shows that Bank's tend to do what they want regardless of what the limits on your other cards are).

The above is only my experience though other people may have success in getting banks to match their highest limit card. I guess that is my way of saying that it is unlikely that banks will go to the trouble of matching your other limits.

If you plan to use the Cap1 premier dining card only on dining. I can suggest the Marvel MasterCard which is 3% on dining and entertainment. It will grow quickly if your TransUnion score stays in good condition.

Cap1's site says the Premier dining card is for people with Excellent credit, I tend to believe Capital One's ratings.

I was denied the Quicksilver because I had not had a card with a $5,000 limit for more than 3 years. Needless to say, I have not applied with Capital One sense

With BOA, Even if they give you a low SL, or a 99/500 card, it still can very easily (and most likely will) grow to well over $5k ++++ within a year or so

I would look at growth potential as well, actually that is much more important to me than the SL is . Why should I care about a $5K SL that might not grow past $7K in 2-3 years, while I could have a $1K card that will easily be $20K in 2 years?

BOA's starting lines certainly depend on the profile. Thin files or those stuck in "low-limit hell" tend to get lower lines to begin with, but as been said well already they can grow very quickly and quite large. I opened a BankAmericard in November with a $12k line, for instance, and in 5 months with two HPs, it was up to $34,600! Just don't be afraid to shoot for the moon when asking for CLIs.
