Chase Auto CLIs...

I logged into my Chase account today to see the attached in the space typically occupied by marketing initiatives. With the greater number of people on this forum getting Chase auto CLIs lately, I am not surprised that they are now coming out of their secrecy and announcing to account holders that they actually do auto CLIs!

Has anyone else seen this on their accounts? This seems like a big change for Chase, as people are/have been stuck for years at the same CL and can only get a CLI via HP (well if this is something that other people see on their accounts too as a marketing initiative).

There was a thread about this a couple of weeks ago.

I think the upshot is that updating your income won't guarantee a CLI. But not having it up to date will guarantee that you won't get one.

According to law, banks can't increase limits without updated income information. If you're making a request, updating your income is included as part of the process. It was posted recently that if the bank wants to offer an increase, your income needs to have been updated within the past year. If you're trying to coax an auto-CLI out of a lender, don't omit making sure your income is updated from time to time, even if you're entering the same income as you provided previously.

I have gotten (1) auto CLI on (2) different Chase cards and each were after a period of 4-6 months of very heavy usage and PIF.

It's showing on all 3 of my primary Chase cards. I would be shocked to ever have an auto-CLI from Chase honestly.

I have it on mine. I entered my income again and it still pops up.

I got Chase FU 3 months ago. Been running up 99.5% utilization, letting it show on statement, PIF the next day. 3rd statement was yesterday, just PIFd $498.37 of my $500 balance.

We shall see. Doubt Chase will give me auto CLI anytime soon as I burned them for $8000+ back in 2009 or so. But we will see!

I'm going to play the new account combination game with Chase whenever they preapprove me for another card. I know someone who went from $1000 SL to $30,000 CL in about 4 years of doing that.

I got auto-CLIs on 2 of my 3 Chase cards. Heavy useage and payoffs.

I have this exact message on my online account-despite the fact that they sent me an email indicating the same thing several weeks ago. I updated the income several weeks ago and nothing.

I also received this on my account, updated and no change yet. My freedom is going on 3/4 years and my CSP is almost at 3 and I still have yet to see a single CLI. Hopefully this tool will help.

Chase has always had the tool, but it's buried. If you're not getting the prompt, hit the little guy in the upper right-hand corner to open your Profile & Settings menu, then choose "Personal details." The income link will be in the left-hand column. If you poke around, I think you'll find that almost all cards offer this tool in some form.

Yes, it has and I've updated my income in there before too. It will be interesting to see how CLIs at Chase evolve now that they are publicly pushing customers to make use of this section for future CLI consideration.

I also have the message, and so do some others here that haven't posted about it either. I think Chase is just going thru and doing Mass income upgrades for every card holder. I don't think its account specific either, or that it means we are all getting CLI's, lol....That would be wishful thinking, especially on my part

i got an auto cli after 5 months

i applied for csp and united, instant approval for csp, united denied said want to see some history on csp.

SL on CSP was 5k, heavy spend monthly carried a balance often but always made heavy payments.

after 5 months got auto cli to 10k i was SHOCKED, thought id never get one my util on the card was at 90%, i guess they like my payment history and heavy usage.

at application i was 660 ex 650 tu and 680 eq, they pulled ex for my original app. at time of cli i was 630 ex 620 tu and 650 eq, carrying a lot of heavy util and in the garden until i pay it all off.
