Citi Double Cash CLI Advice

Hi, I'm reading some conflicting answers on the best time to request an increase for my Citi Double cash. I read four and six months. I'm only approaching my second month, but I like having a game plan. thanks!

With Citi it is typically every 6 months.

I opened my Diamond Preferred in late November and got my first SP CLI in February (or early March). The results may be better after more time, but there's no way for us to know for certain as no two people here would have the same exact credit profile to try at different times. If your account has the soft pull language ("It's easy... a credit report will not be...") there is no harm in trying too early, as the only clock that gets reset with Citi is 6 months between granted credit line increases.

The set rules are, 3 months after account opening and 6 months after the last CLI. As for the best time, it varies with individuals, if your credit history is long enough for example, you can probably just follow the minimum timeline. But if you have a short history without other accounts with Cap One, it wouldn't hurt to let it brew a while longer before asking.

You can ask for a CLI with Citi as soon as you activate the card and add it your online account. No need to wait 3 months. Of course it will result in a HP but many people, including myself, have received nice CLIs this way.

Well you are an old man and they both start with the letter C, so it's easy to see how you could get confused.

No info as to how soon after opening an account that you can

get a soft pull CL increase,

I was given an automatic CL increase at just over 12 months.

My account page always shows soft pull language and I have tried at

different intervals just to see. It only works for me after 6 full months,

not even 5.5.

Had my costco open for 7 going on 8 months no SP CLI language whese-as opened my Hilton card about 1 months after my costco card and after about 2 months on my Citi Hilton card the SP language came up and got a SP CLI yet my costco card still wants a HP.. Really makes no sense to me, but meh. Hoping my Prestige will have a SP CLI language available shortly as pumping a few k a month through it just to meet spend lol and costco hopefully one day SP language will show up.

You can call in and get your SP CLI. I got mine in March upping my CL from 2.2k to 3.5k via SP, when I asked if I can get more the rep said it will be a HP to consider for more which I declined.
