USAA Limitless full release September 17th!!!

I was told by a knowledgable insurance rep yesterday that the USAA Limitless card will be fully released nationwide during the week of Spetember 17th! I was adding a policy for my new house, as well as adding my wife to an auto policy and she was very helpful and on the ball with everything. I asked her towards the end if she knew anything about the card, and she responded giving me this info.

It will be released the week of Sept-17
It will have more 2.5% qualification options. Currently it requires $1,000 direct deposit, unbroken. Upon release, it will accept either:

$1,000 single direct deposit, same as before.
$2,000 total deposits of any size.
Average daily balance of an amount she was not aware of.
Having Insurance, and some brokerage products opens eligibility. She was not told what insurance products were eligible, but this is why she knew about it. She had gotten word that they will be mentioning the card when it goes fully live to insurance customers.

I'm excited. This will get me out of the garden assuming my mortgage closes by then as it's scheduled. I bank elsewhere, so I hope having two homeowners, two auto and an Umbrella policy gets me eligible straight up!

I hope the nationwide release of the USAA Limitless will put pressure on NFCU, PenFed, and other financial institutions in the "military financial community" to upgrade their rewards programs. I doubt, however, that the big boys like Chase, Citi, Amex, and Bank of America will feel much pressure because their universe of customers is so much larger than the military-affiliated institutions.

Yeah, i'll be with BofA for the most part in a couple years. My wife and I will most likely change companies by then, so we will roll over our 401k's to Merill, giving us over 100k for top rewards categories. If you qualify for that, it's tough to beat BofA's credit card lineup.

If not, USAA limitless is great, so that will become my everyday card in the interim!

I assume that all USAA cards are related to people with military background or related to one? If so, it's still quite limited I think.

Hmm, about time! I have been patiently waiting, watching. Thanks OP for the awesome Intel! I think I may need till November 1st tho to polish my reports properly. I think I can hit 803 by that time, fingers crossed.

How to become a partial member if you are not related to someone in the military and do not have military background? And what's the difference between partial vs full member? Did you mean to say that partial members "will" be able to apply for the limitless card? All I heard is that it's only available to full members at this time. Maybe I am wrong.

Hmm... awaiting more clarification I guess. I thought all USAA cards are only available to people with military background or related to someone in the military...

I thought USAA Limitless is only eligible for full members and in limited areas/states. I thought OP meant to say that it will open to all the members and accross the US. Military relationship should still apply as it's one of the requirements to join USAA, right? Maybe I am wrong... Please clarify it for me!!

Just to clarify, by "full release" I meant no longer in pilot mode as it has been. It will be available to all USAA members regardless of residence.

You still need to meet their eligibility requirements. I'm not sure how to be a partial member, and i'm also unsure if partial members have access to their credit cards.

Either way, i'm happy! This card will put my Navy Fed CashRewards and Quicksilver on ice, to be used only for balance transfer offers.

the window open for everyone to join as a partial/limited membership between 2009 - 2013, you can get more info with your google search or on here
the different between full and partial is partial will not quailify for any insurance product.
yes, I am a partial / limit membership and I was able to apply limitless card once it was available to my state

side note: I do have Amex plus card for 5% CB on gas from USAA

It's 2.5% cash back, no FTF, cash back post after transactions clear with no limit on redemptions. For general spend, IMO it's the best card in my wallet..and I have a lot of them in there. Lol

Ironically, our household received targeted offers from NFCU to use our card(s).

For those who are strictly seeking cash-back it's one of the best offerings around. 2.5% cash back on nearly anything and everything is hard to beat.

To redeem the cash back there's a $1 minimum, and you can get it as a statement credit or deposited to any of your USAA checking/savings accounts. I've had my direct deposit going to USAA for years anyway, so in my case the Limitless Visa was a no-brainer.
