Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature though Chase. I had accidentally burned Chase in the past after they bought out another account I'd had. Never in a million years did I think I'd get back in with them. I would never ever apply for any card directly at Chase.com, and was done caring about INQs at the time of applying. Mainly wanted to see the reasons for denial... if they remembered me. Shocked at the approval for sure, not only because they said yes but also because I didn't realize signature cards came as low as $500!

I've had bad credit almost my entire life (I'm only 27) -- acted irresponsibly with all cards in college, and up until about a year and a half ago. All I was getting were $500 limits for Cap1 cards, one at a time. Gradually, I messed things up; credit cards AND student loans.

Come May of this year, my scores shot up 80 points on all bureaus... Apped for an AmEx BCE and DiscoverIT and got approved for both instantly! Then, a week or so later, apped for a BoA Travel Rewards & got by far my highest limit -- 3.7K. Two weeks later, I saw the CLI button. Hit it, BOOM -- 10K!

It's been a great journey, in large part due to this forum.

Most unexpected approval was my Citi DC card. I've seen lots of approvals posted here with starting limits ranging from $1k-$3k, I applied over the phone and the lady said "congratulations, your application is approved and your starting limit is $9k."

I would have to say its my recent approval for a NFCU cashRewards Signature Visa with a starting line of a whopping $5,500!! They pulled my TU which at the time was 630. It is by far my biggest line thus far. Before this is was my Quicksilver One for $1,750. Pleaseantly pleased if I do say so myself! If we're talking in terms of lowest, it would have to be my Synchrony Walmart storecard which started out with *wait for it* $150! That was a shocker because then my TU was around 657. I have had it next month will make a year and it has only doubled to $300. My target card flew past that in months! From $300 to currently 1,300. As you may already realize Walmart has been sock drawered for some months now!

Probably getting my first approval in almost 8 years post bk. Was in JCPenny when the cashier convinced me to apply for an additional discounton some shoes i was buying. At that point, even being discharged almost 8 tears ago i felt i could get no credit because i was bankrupt. Wanna apply, no sorry bankrupt . Decided oh whst the heck, and wss shockingly approved for $500. I was dtunned, i used to Pennies so didnt think it was possible. So began my rebuild in earnest and to this day have a specisl place for Pennies in my heart. Tale of the tape??? Today , my highest line at 12k

AMEX Blue Cash easily for me.

Previous to that, all I had was a Capital One Secured with a SL of $500. My issue was a thin file. I called myself trying to become an adult and start taking my credit serious so I consolidated all my student loans and next thing I knew my scores shot up 30-40 points and I was floored. I went on CK and saw my approval odds for the AMEX BC was "good" but before I apped, I googled and this is how I found this forum. After reading, I figured what the heck and apped and was approved for $2500. I still can't believe at times that I got an AMEX. After that, I went on a spree and was successful for everything I went after except 1 card (Discover IT).

Overstock would be second because of my SL ($3000) and it was a SCT. But I just use it sparingly and keep it for utlization padding mostly.

For me, my most unexpected cc approvals would have to be:

Open cards:

(1) BEFCU VISA: due to geo restrictions that were listed on their website -- honestly wasn't expecting to be approved, but figured "why not?", and apped anyway -- and was very pleasantly surprised!

(2) PACU MC: was very happy to be able to qualify for the lowest-available rate, and was able to build a SL of $2k to $20k CL today.

(3) Unify VISA: took quite a bit of improvement of my credit score first, but was ultimately able to improve my profile to qualify for lowest rate available after multiple HPs over about a year.

(4) (now) BoA Cash Rewards WMC: originally started out as an alumni affinity BoA WorldPoints card from my alma mater in 2007, which had advertised it as being "one card to meet all your needs", along with a very nice low, fixed-rate APR. BoA was later kind enough to upgrade it to the 3-2-1 card.

(5) FNBO Amex: wasn't expecting to be approved, was delighted when I ended up receiving an instant approval from FNBO after submitting my online app.

Closed cards:

(1) Citi DPR / TYp MC: offered by Citi with with an outstanding fixed APR in 2004, was my primary go-to card until 2008-2009 when Citi RJ'd and closed it during CARD Act.

(2) DMB Titanium MC: approved by Direct Merchants Bank -- loved this card as it offered a 90-day grace period on all purchases, allowing one to carry a balance and pay no interest if payments were timed correctly. When HSBC acquired DMB, the extended grace period feature was discontinued.

(3) Chase Platinum MC: my first truly prime card, with a very low variable rate APR. Ironically, this was back in the days of yore, when Chase was still willing to consider APR reductions. Tbh, I liked this card a lot better than some of the cards Chase offers today in the present.
