Express Net Card (baffled)

Don't understand what's going on. I had the express card which comenity canceled about 1 year ago, I didn't have a balance at that time. Today a new Express Next CC came in the mail with $500 limit. Front of the card states member since 2015, used the card to purchase socks online and everything was fine. I'm baffled

Something strange is going on with Comenity accounts. Over the past few weeks, I have been receiving MyFICO alerts for account updates to Comenity accounts I closed 6-9 months ago.

Yes, card stated I’ve been a member since 2015. But for no reason CC account was canceled by Comenity 2016.
