So apparently....

there are two versions of the AARP card. I'm not sure if this is a known knowledge here... but I just called to upgrade to a Visa Signature card and the JP Morgan rep told me that I was eligible to either remain on the current reward structure or upgrade to the new one which would be 3% cashback on travel and dining purchases. Of course I decided to keep the current structure since I already have plenty of travel cards but the new card was expedited and would be here by tomorrow. Just thought I should share

Wait! 3% on both travel and dining? Is there an annual fee? I've never heard of this, and I'm a Chase cardholder and a member of AARP. When did this happen? I'm thinking this card could be a strong competitor to the CSP.

Why did you turn it down? The current version is 3% on dining and gas, right? How can that be better for you?

Both are those are links to the same card with 3% for dining and gas. Nothing about 3% on travel.

Maybe because OP doesn't travel or because OP spends more $$ on gas and dining.

I did some googling and just found this:

I don't see dining listed for the 3%, but the 3% travel category is almost as broadly defined as the CSP and CSR.

Maybe this is an older version. If you click on the "not a cardmember yet?" it takes you to the application for the current version with 3% cashback on dining and gas.

Honestly guys I have no idea about the 3% version of this card with travel and dining rewards. I was just as shocked to hear that like the rest of you all. Unfortunately I spend alot on gas and dining plus I already have the Prestige and Ritz Carlton so I'm pretty much covered when it comes to travel cards. She said I can always call back and switch to that version so thats a good thing. Can someone who already has this call Chase and see if they get a similar offer?

@Irish80 - I run Chrome on my mobile, and it doesn't even give me an edit option on my posts (though I'm not sure about threads I've started). Trying to use the desktop version of this site is, at the very least, ugly and cumbersome, and at the very worst, I get a parameters error (99% of the time). If you could just delete the info in that post, I'd appreciate it (since I can't) - thank you!

I think I have seen a post about that somewhere in the past.
From what I can remember, that did exist, but they discontinued the 3% travel a while ago
