Capital One Upgrade Venture One > Quicksilver: Will it affect Credit Score?

When I checked the Capital One upgrade link, it says I can convert my Venture One into a Quicksilver. I'm tempted since the Quicksilver has better incentives.

It says it will be the same account/same numbers.

Will this affect my credit report in any way? I'm worried it might show the old card as shut down, and the upgrade as a "new" card. (my biggest issue on my reports is length of history since old baddies dropped off recently.)

Edit: I forgot to ask if I might have a chance of getting a siggy card if I upgrade. My limit is 12k, but my current card is not a siggy. (got the limit from combining cards.)

Upgrades do not mess with account history, no new inquiries, etc.

Nothing will change except for the product itself, the expiration date, and the verification code on the back. Your interest rate, card number, eligibility for CLIs, etc. will all remain the same.

I'll add that some have reported that doing a PC with a credit line of $5k or higher has resulted in the account being changed to Signature (Visa) or World (MasterCard), but it's YMMV and often the Capital One CSRs themselves won't be able to say one way or another in advance if this will happen.

Note that in the case of a MasterCard PC, I've never seen anybody get upgraded to WEMC (at least not yet).

Hmm, I might try just for the chance it might become a siggy card. Then again, I'm about to pay off the last chunk I owe on it, and apply for an Amex - so I doubt I'll even use it much afterwards. (Amex prequalified me for a 13.99% apr, and even offered the Platinum with 100k reward points - so I guess my credit is getting better!)

I see absolutely no advantage of a Venture ONE versus a QuickSilver.
