Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Unlimited

Hi everyone, I am still relatively new to posting on the boards even though I have been looking at them for a while. I searched but could not find an answer even though I am sure it is on here. Can you earn the Sign up bonus on both of these cards or only one. I have had the Unlimited since June and already earned that one. I just got approved for the Freedom (with WAY more than 5/24) and just wondered if I could earn that bonus also. Thanks for any answers.

You can earn the bonus for each card.

That's interesting.

I have the FU and *really* wanted the Freedom too but being at all times way over 5/24 kept me from even trying.

And yes, as Irish said you'll get the bonus, it's part of their advertising therefore it's part of the contract. Some people reported getting denied, then calling recon to ask to transfer some other Chase card's CL to the new one to get approved --even that gets the bonus.

Thanks everyone. I already have the Freedom Unlimited and was really suprised when it showed up that I was preapproved for the Freedom and also the Saphire Preferred. I did not apply for that one because I do not want annual fees and I don't travel. I was shocked because I am so far over 5/24 that i figured I would never be approved.

Preapproved is different story. You can get denied later with the actual app when they pull your report and see the 5+/24. Please post the result if you finally decide to apply

While yes you can be denied with every application even if you’re preapproved, the Chase online and in branch preapprovals are a known way to bypass 5/24.

I'm interested in your "WAY more than 5/24" approval. How WAY over were you? Was this a pre-qualified/approved offer from Chase?

I envy you. I'll be gardening for 2 years waiting to get back under 5/24. *sigh*

Did you apply through a pre-qual offer or branch pre approval?

When I logged in it showed t he Freedom and Sapphire under my offers. The Sapphire is still there.

If you apply for the FU within 24 hours of getting the Freedom, they'll use the same credit pull to approve that one as well. That's how I got mine. I even got identical limits and APRs.
