When I got this card in April there was no 0% APR and only a $100 bonus.... darn. Do you think they'll send the new design out if I requested? It beats the Capital One Platinum look to it I suppose?

It seems Capital One changed the name of the Premier Dining Rewards card to Savor. (3% Dining 2% Groceries 1% Everything else)

https://www.capitalone.com/credit-cards/savor-dining-rewards/

I haven't looked at dining cards at all because I'm too cheap to eat out all that often. But I probably need to add this to my forecast because there are months I have family or friends in town and I'll buy a dinner.

What does this compare to out there? 2% groceries doesn't impress me, 1% everything else is meh. 3% dining sounds reasonable -- is there a cap? Annual fee? Any "gotchas" about it? Does it bank the 3% at statement cut, or after it posts, or at $25 amounts or anything goofy?

Thanks!

I am not big on entertainment so that one doesn't really work for me. I haven't seen a movie since 2011 (and those tickets were free) and I don't think I ever spent more than 99c on iTunes and probably not in a decade, lol. The 2% on groceries on the Savor card is useful once my Discover 1%+1% cashback year ends unless I get an Amex card that gives more than 2%.

This is a possibility, although my next Capital One app is Feb 7 and I'll hope for Venture 2x card there since I do a lot of travel spend and can put the 2% back towards travel pretty easily as a general spend card -- plus that would cover my grocery spend anyway since I spend way more on travel than on any other category. Wish there was a travel cashback card with 3%!

The are two cards that give 3% on travel and dining; however, you can only redeem the cash once a year. Costco Visa and Sam's MasterCard. Of course they require you to be a member of the club.

https://www.samsclub.com/sams/pagedetails/content.jsp?pageName=credit

https://www.citi.com/credit-cards/credit-card-details/citi.action?ID=Citi-costco-anywhere-visa-credit-card

Neither store appeals much to me because like any supposedly discount vendor, the better the deals appear to be, the more likely it is that the loyal customer is underwater financially and overspends in order to try to save 5 cents, lol. I hate Costco, all my friends and family who are Costco addicts have homes absolutely filled with junk and pantries with food I'd never eat (and doubtful they will either). So I tend to avoid them. The only times I've shopped there in the past 5 years is buying some electronic junk item that I know will probably self destruct and then Costco has a good return policy. So I rely on people with Costco cards in the event I want to buy junk that I think will break in 12 months. Like my 3 inflatable beds I bought in the past 7 years for when guests camp in my living room, only to spring a leak a few months later and need returning.

But I can probably get signed onto Costco or Sam's through a family member, I assume, and avoid the fee. I'll have to dig a bit deeper to see, I'd consider either card for 3% travel rewards even if it's only banked annually.

Gas rewards are kinda useless for me, all my cars are electric and I rent them out on Turo so my own driving miles are "free" -- plus most EVs get 2 years of free charging with purchase so even the electricity costs me nothing, haha.

It depends on the situation. Three of my six cards are Quicksilvers. And they're all in the 15-year age range, so I don't want to combine. I'd be glad to PC one of them.

3% on dining does sound nice because I eat out quite often. However, Cap1 was nice to me during my rebuild but now they won't give me an increase on my QS. I am sitting at $750. Ive asked and the first few times it was because I didnt establish enough history with my $750 limit, then most recently too many inquiries or too many accounts opened recently, I cant remeber. At this point I have SD it for now. I cant imagine they would approve me for this card and I am not into the 3 pulls right now.

I thought you didn't receive the signing bonus with a PC. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Maybe it’s just me, but man that card is ugly! Yikes!

Surely it has to look better in person? I might PC my QS to it but otherwise I would not sign up for this card on its own. I never use QS any longer as I get better rewards elsewhere but it’s my oldest card so I’ll keep it or PC it but I’ll never drop it.
