I think instead of shutting down this card, I'll just PC it to DC card. DC card has no bonus, so it is not blocking anything. And we get to preserve the AAoA. We do not need this DC card since we already have one and it is not being used much.

I agree it is a bad deal for a PC to the AA card that is why I turned that down as wouldn't of got the bonus. Not a bad deal for the PC to the DC card for me as their isn't a bonus that I know about other then a BT offer possibly which I have tons of and don't have balances so this ISN'T a BAD thing for me or most IMO. Others might have offers such as the dividend card or what not. I took the best of the two options.. Granted I have a few 2% cards already, but this will keep the card a no AF card and not impacting any bonus that I know about. Some people want to be Pc'ed to Amex as they burnt them before and possibly a way in with them in the very near future others like me that have 70k exposure with Amex across 4 revolvers don't want another revolver slot taken with Amex and would of just cancelled if I didn't have the PC option.. Also have already got the bonus with Amex for the no AF hilton card in the past as well and no longer have that card.

So long story short agree PC'ing to AA is bad, but to the DC I see no downsides as you eluded to in your first post. Also I choose to PC my CSP to CSR as I find great value in the card although didn't get another sign-up bonus as the card with my dining expense per month made is a very easy choice as also alot of other forum members choose to do that as well. Also the people that got the fairmont card hoping to be PC'ed to one of the core Chase card they did indeed get that, but ya they didn't get the bonus heck they got the fairmont bonus of what two nights and a PC would of double dipped that would of been stupid for Chase to offer them two bonus and just bad business for them. Also the people that got the PC also get a core chase card with being way over 5/24 a big win for alot of those people as well as that was their goal

<STRIKE>Just to clarify, if you do get a PC to the Amex Hilton it would not prevent you from getting a bonus in the future. The rule is that you can only receive a bonus once per lifetime on any card. If you never had a signup bonus on a card, you are still eligible to receive it.</STRIKE>

Redacted, but left here for context!

For those of us that are currently on the AMEX blacklist: I have read in other forums that AMEX will likely sniff us out and cancel our cards shortly after they are issued. I am hoping that this is not the case.

I’m wondering about the AMEX blacklist too since I have a Citi Hilton card. People have weasled back in through the authorized user route, and not been cancelled. Or have I misunderstood this loophole?

My plan is to PC to the Dividend card - it's no longer available for signup but I believe you can get it through a PC. I'm going to do this before the switch to Amex so I don't get disqualified for the Amex Hilton signup bonus. Can't hurt to have another 5%-er

My question on this whole deal is what happens with my free night for $10,000 spend? I have already hit my $10,000 spend for the year, but I don't normally get my free night until February. If I close or PC this card I assume my night is forfeited?

Just off the phone with Citi call center (overseas) people. They said, this Citi Hilton card will be converted to AmEx Hilton on 1/1/2018. They do not accept any product change to any of the other Citi cards. I'll try again next week when I can reach the call center in US.

Definitely I do not want to get converted to AmEx Hilton. We can still apply for another AmEx Hilton card and get the bonus. The conversion will kill it. Not much loss since this card is only two years old.

Contacted another US based Citi rep. The Citi Hilton card can't be converted to another Citi card. There must be some agreement between City and AmEx to prevent City from taking the future AmEx customers.

I'll cancel this card. Then wait for another opportunity to get on Citi wagon. Goodbye for now....

When this goes to Amex I think there will be some automatic limit decreases for me. Pretty sure Amex won't want me to have 92k in limits with them!

Saving slots for potential future apps, and still trying to figure how to reduce my AMEX revolvers.

I'll monitor the situation in the next few months, but by December, if no PC available within Citi, my no-AF Hilton Citi is the next card to close. Really don't need it anyway, even if it were to go to a Double Cash, and certainly don't need it crowding out $13k of Revolver slot space on AMEX.

I already have the AMEX Surpass, which was a nice upgrade for the 100,000 Hilton points a few months back with no HP.

Strange as DOC had a few scenarios of people being able to PC and alot not being able to then kinda went away a few weeks ago I had no offers then tried today and had two.. Possibly due to me having so much available credit at amex, doubt they have access to their systems that I am offered this? Doubtful just trying to figure out why I had the offers and I will hold them to it due to recorded line if they try to back peddle

Possible HUCA it until you get someone willing to work with you?

another edit BTW mine was a us based CSR that took my call earlier today

another edit she also metnioned it woudl be another card number mostly guessing due to being a MC, but would be same open date and account history
