barclays bank cutoff times 4pm west coast

I like to pay my payments on the day there are due . Barclays bank cutoff times are impossible i usually work all day until about 6pm on the west coast and there cut off time is 4pm. So during work i will make my payment on my phone sometimes i am right around a few minutes late last time i was literally 3 min late. They to change there policy because if you pay it on the day its due how can it be considered late i am fought and fought and fought with there cooperate office and get no where 4pm on the west coast is unacceptable for a cut off and they need to change this!!!!! i am never not even one day late maybe a few minutes sometimes

That does suck they should adjust the deadline to each time zone. I would recommend paying maybe a few days before so you don't get into the situation of being "late", when your not because of the time zone differences.

Id imagine, they dont have the best rep here on myfico though some do not experience problems. I am not able to get their cc's due to my location but their jumpiness makes me think they are the ones who drink too much coffee and not us

I don't understand your issue. There has to be some cut-off time to make it late. Don't wait until the last minute. I am not sure why if you know it is due at 4PM you are paying at 4:03 PM. If you want to pay the last day you can always pay before you go work. During your lunch break. Or pay a week before so if there is some mix up with your payment you can correct it.

If you absolutely need to pay on the due date, why not just schedule a payment for the due date? Barclaycard isn't one of those rare lenders that immediately processes a payment and doesn't allow you to schedule ahead of time. If an account isn't accruing interest, I schedule all of my payments for the payday prior to the due date (for cash flow and because there's no incentive for me to pay immediately if I have the grace period) but it would work just as well scheduling it for the due date.

What a ridiculous complaint. They're based on the east coast, so they think 7pm is sufficient. You are not obligated to use them. Like everyone else said, either pay before work, pay during lunch, or just schedule the payment in advance to occur on the pay date.

Its not the point the point they should not charge a late fee when you are paying on the same day that is the major problem!!!!!

The point is they should not be able to charge you a late fee if you pay the day its due its not my fault there computers can't post it right if they receive the payment they should be able to post just like Chase bank if you call and talk to a rep before midnight they post it the same day !!!!

All financial institutions have a cutoff somewhere. 7 PM Eastern is generous. A brief look shows CapOne and Citi are both 5 PM Eastern, and I am sure this applies to many of the east coast banks and credit unions. If you're unable to meet their clearly stated cutoff times, you may want to either choose a different banking institution (BOA and Discover are I believe midnight Eastern and I think Amex is around the same although they use a different time zone) or move east.

All you have to do is set your own due date for yourself—make it the day before. There have been excellent suggestions provided here—pay before you go to work, on your lunch hour, automatically pay, or any day before it’s due. Why are you stressing yourself out? I swear I don’t understand your reasoning. And, honestly, I didn’t even know there was a cutoff time on credit cards because mine are always automatically paid on the due date.

You also need to keep in mind that you agreed to this cutoff time in your cardmember agreement. Your late fee(s) are valid. Your point that you're arguing is irrelevant. Late is late. Find another financial institution, start your own financial institution, or move.

For what it's worth, Capital One, Citi, and Discover cut off at 2PM Pacific time. 5PM Eastern / 2PM Pacific is the earliest cutoff that the law will allow. Barclays gives you two hours beyond that.

If you don't wish to pay a day early, you can schedule a payment for the due date. Or you can schedule a payment for any day between today and four months from now. On their payment page, in the section that says "On what date," choose "Schedule a payment for the future." You can choose any date in the next four months.

Guy, we heard your opinion multiple times now. No matter how many times you say it, it's not changing the cutoff time. Reassess how you manage your finances if you can't pay before 4pm on the due date and move on.
