BestBuy RZ MC Question.

I have Best Buy MC RZ. I have only $450 CL. If I were to goto Store and try to purchase a big ticket item and ask the store manager to call for CLI, any chance HSBC might increase the CL on my Card to facilitate the purchase?

It never hurts to try. When ever I do CLI calls at work (best buy) it does actually work in the customer's favor. The store manger wouldn't have any other extra pull than a customer service rep., so just go to customer service and asked them to call the bank and see if they can do a CLI. There isn't a need to contact a store manager on that, since they hardly ever actually deal with running the bby or rzmc card application.

I doubt it based on best buy cutting credit limits in half these days and not caring about whether customers close their accounts. But, I guess you never know until you ask. Good Luck, I cancelled all my cards with HSBC recently (Best Buy, Best Buy MC, Carson's, 1 Orchard Bank Visa, 1 Orchard Bank MC, and another HSBC Mastercard) I feel like I can breathe now!

I wonder if it would work to have the store manager call to get it increased then after they increase it, pretend to think about it a little bit then tell them you've changed your mind. Only to help your util.

Well, of course, then HSBC (the issuing bank) could also think about it a little bit and change its mind, CLD'ing you even lower than before, or canceling the card altogether. Only to help its util.

It's a good idea but they have pulled a copy of my report twice when I asked for a CLI from them online.
